According to PayPlan, there is still an opportunity to make an offer of payment. I believe you would include your offer with the N56 form, and if the court were to accept your offer, then the Attachment of Earnings would not appear to happen. The court will ask you to pay the amount owed in full. If you cannot afford this, you will need to fill in the form saying as much and send it back to the court. If you have received a N56 form, you MUST fill this in and return it as soon as possible.
When you fill out the form you can make an offer of payment to prevent the application of an AEO. If this is accepted, you make the agreed payments to your creditors and your employer is not notified. Deductions will be made at the rate of payment decided by the court as reasonable.

Probably for affordability purposes, if they're rich then they can support you. If they are poor and you're supporting them then the court can't tell you to pay more than you can afford.0 -

Correct, if the court are minded they will suspend the attachment to earnings order.0 -
Hi.
Just a little update. I emailed and sent the N56 back to the court on Thursday by recorded delivery. Offered £200 a month until May then £447 a month because one of my other debts finishes. Spent all weekend terrified a bailiff would rock up. Haha. Just a waiting game now I guess.
Thanks for your advise/support0
