Quick catch up from me. Chemo dose has been adjusted in the hope I can tolerate it. Consultant has agreed stop if not possible. I read your news most days and have to say I am saddened by the recent fall out between 2 regulars.0

Morning all from mehefinland
Well mRs M thought she had got away with it, taking a few days off work and not letting on that it was a big burpday. She got the surprise of her life at 715 this morning when she walked in to flowers, cupcakes and a big banner. think she was secretly pleased:j
Her 'proper' burpday went well on Saturday last too. A few suprises thrown in by me and DS including a last minute party, some friends she had not seen for probably 10 years, a mahoosive cake made by a neighbours daughter who makes them for a living, and the various presents. Absolutely loved the brooch I got her from sculpture to wear although mr postie nearly c8cked up that surprise - a long story but I ended up chasing around the various post offices in the area trying to find the missing parcel on Saturday morning.
RR hope you enjoy your burpday as much as MRs M did
Not much else to say so hugs and spoons to those in need

Poppy,I'm very happy to see you posting, thanks for the update and I hope the new chemo dose suits you better . It is a shame when long time posters leave the thread xx
Absolutely chucking it down since yesterday afternoon.Got drenched picking DGS up from school yesterday and same again this morning . I think I'll stay in today!
I rearranged some more cupboards yesterday as I got my big salad spinner down from out of the boiler cupboard & figured if I'm eating BSD meals ,I'll need it more often.Did a bit of kondoing under the sink and got it in there.I did some extra roasted veg last night and put the rest in a plastic tub without a lid on the worktop while we ate.DH always finishes before me and I just stopped him from putting the peelings in from an apple DGD had-r he was ready to throw it all away ,he really should know me better than that:D They had steak ,veg and chips,I missed out the chips.
Hester,the boat looks great!
Bozwood, you must have worked very hard to lose that weight, well done.
Camelot and Gers,I have the opposite problem in that my eyebrows are almost non-existent these days, but what few bits there are dont lie straight
Welcome Katy
Hope it's a good day for you all, whatever you're up to xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all.
The sun is trying it's best to come out to play, but it's very wet underfoot.
Dad didn't come for tea yesterday, he was not up to it and it was bucketing down. Never mind he's hoping to come for Sunday now.
I had to put the heating on in the afternoon yesterday as it turned really cold, so I took advantage and I did a load in the WM then dried it all indoors. There was zero chance of it going outside
Today I need to hoover and dust the downstairs, Mr Fix It is going to play...... er work in the shed then he will steam clean the kitchen for me this afternoon :j. I will empty the DW when it's done it's thing and that's all that's planned for today. Anything else will be a bonus.
Tea tonight ... not sure, there's some gammon leftover so maybe that will be the basis for something. I will get my chef to have a think about it :rotfl:. Unfortunately he's no Jamesmore Tom Kerridge . but he's all mine, mine, mine
.
Nelski you would always be welcome here. I could give you a tour of our Morries for a change :rotfl:. Hope today goes well for you.
Holly enjoy your coffee and I hope the appointment goes ok.
Dumpling well done on your day yesterday. I hope today goes well too, ad infinitum :j
Gers I'm glad that your DM is no longer worrying about what it could be. Dad has been diagnosed with Bronchiectasis and we were concerned that it too may have been something more aggressive. Now he seems resigned to the fact that he will have it for the rest of his life. ( he's 90 this year )
RedRuby Happy Birthday :bdaycake: Now remember no housework allowed todayHave a lovely time and let us know about your mystery trip away.
Snoozer I hope you get rid of the sore throat soon. It's very hard trying not to pass it on to someone with a weakened immune system. So no kissing:rotfl:
SilverOldie was that Roger and Roger
Poppy lovely to "see " you. Take care of yourself.
Right Mr Fix it has made me a cup of coffee, so I'd best drink it while it's hot
Take care all

Happy birthday Ruby.......a surprise holiday sounds wonderful.
Very cold here this morning.....I was up before 8 and turned on the heat and lit the Living room fire......we got some firewood the other day and I love a log fire. DGD arrived at 8.15 , having had 3 Weetabix for breakfast so had very little of the toast she usually has when she comes
Hester......congratulations on your new boat, it looks lovely, lots of storage. Can you put it at a permanent mooring convenient to everything you need?
Nice to see you posting Poppy, look after yourself.
Sun making an intermittent appearance today, not even taking edge off the cold though, going to have an afternoon of knitting,. DD1 cooking dinner.
Stay safe and warm everybody.

Happy birthday Redruby.
Gers, I'm sorry about your mum but on a positive note dad was diagnosed with COPD as a result of inhaling industrial chemicals. He lived with it for many years without needing oxygen and died of something else.
Steve is still doing well, unfortunately I have got a sore throat and cough so I hope I don't pass it on.
Thanks snoozer, yes, think it'll all be about managing the COPD. Good to hear that Steve is doing better.
I went out this morning to collect the meds, the script hadn't been filled yet and the pharmacy didn't have two of the three items. More going back on Saturday.
My one student went home sick, at least he had the sense to email me. I'm so glad I didn't hang around at home.
Since then I've spent ages on the phone to the Fire Service and then six different people/ sections of Glasgow City Council about vibrating smoke alarms for DM. Conventional alarms are no use because she can't hear them. She had a device called Fire Angel which stopped working a number of years ago. I'm hopeful that I've now got a replacement device through Social Services and the Telecare system, but I'm fairly frazzled by the effort. It's been like walking through treacle.
After that series of calls I had to 'facilitate' an IT bloke in Manchester doing an audit of my work laptop ( the two day a month job). That too was a tad fraught though at least he was cheerful and chatty.
I need a lie down in a dark room! :rotfl:0
