As above, check your policy: you may have to tell them immediately (i.e. now for a pending conviction).

If it's a 6-month ban for totting you won't have 12 points on your licence, because you won't have a licence!

    Hi everyone

I may be disqualified later in the year (please don't judge - it was my fault!) and I wondered what happened after my six month ban when I try to renew my insurance. I will then be on 0 points but wondered if anyone knew if I had to declare the fact that I had been on 12 for six months? I imagine that insurance companies will have a record of my ban anyway and therefore my insurance will go up a lot?

    Thanks

    Martin
You won't have any points for tottting purposes, but it is still a matter of fact that you were convicted of the offences si when the insurer asks if you have been convicted of any offences in the last 5 years you will have to relply "yes".

While the specific offences will no longer show up on your DVLA record, it will show a TT99 endorsement instead as a record of the totting ban,, which gives insurance companies an easy way of telling of you don't declare the convictions, even if they don't have a record of them from previous quotes(comparison sites.
