Santander 123 ISA

Hi all,

I'm looking to take out a 2 year fixed ISA with Santander which currently pays 1.90 % if you are a 123 customer.

If you take out the ISA but close the 123 current account before the end of the 2 year ISA do you still get the full 1.90%?

Thanks

Peter

T&Cs state "To be eligible for the higher interest rate you must be a 1|2|3 World or a Santander Select customer at point of opening (see..."

Can't see any specific reference in the T&Cs to what happens if you close the 123 account but it's not explicitly stated that you need to keep it open for the duration to you could assume it's okay. Might be worth checking though.

The 123 Lite account qualifies for World status as well as the full-fat version, so even if you have a full 123 and no longer wish to keep it, downgrading to a Lite gives an account that only costs £1/month, which should be easy to offset with some cashback, as well as the preferential ISA rate of course....
