Is this a bonded leather

The 'leather' started to peel off the armchair after I had it for just 2.5 years.
Can some one look at the picture and tell me if this is a bonded leather or if I was missold a faux leather?
As if I was indeed missd I would be looking at taking the retailer to court.

Faux leather is fake so when cut it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

But how do I exactly tell the difference?

I honestly don't know how you'd tell the difference. Bonded leather and artificial leather are very similar products in terms of how they're constructed. However, I think bonded leather actually is more likely to peel and flake than artificial leather.

Faux leather is fabric backed, bonded leather is like chipboard, all scrap leather bonded together.

There is a big difference in the feel that's easy to tell when the material is cut giving a good vies of what's underneath.

For me it is impossible to tell hence why I have created the post. I need some one to look at the picure and tell me what type of leather it is, so I know if I have a claim

How much was the chair? This will give an indication of the quality of materials as anything of quality wouldn't peel for decades.

So the white area under the blue fabric is part of the chair and used to have leather on it too but its peeled off? (As the other poster said, it is a little hard to see whats what in the photo if you don't know what its supposed to be.)

a close up of the ragged edge would help, a rough guess is that it is bonded leather and its separating from the backing.
