Evan halshaw customer service
Hi all,
I am not sure where to begin,
So I have a just over 2 year old vauxhall corsa limited edition, which has been great until a few weeks ago my engine light came on and my anti skid light, my car was vibrating and losing power as I changed gear, took it to the garage as it was under warranty,
I then though it was time for a change as I know you change your car half way through the agreement, saw a car I liked with another dealership, only to be told I had negative equity on my car, something I was not aware I had. (Yes should of read the agreement thouroughly) when I initially enquires about my corsa I was never made aware that if I changed my car early I would carry negative equity onto my new agreement all the sales man said your ne monthly payments would be £208 a month as it’s limited edition and because I’m buying at a certain time of year.
If I was informed at the time I would never have taken the car I would have waited a few more months.
Anyway roll on two weeks after my first problem with my car which seemingly was the coil pack and plugs which the said were replaced, still waiting for the paper work for this.
My car then developed another fault, which my car would not start, only after abou 20 minutes would it start, called the garage to be to,d it would be over a week before they could look at it, there were no courtesy cars available, I’ve lost days off work as I start early in the morning and needed my car. So the day they fixed it I got a call to say my front tyre needs replacing, I was baffled and said the the lady my car was in because it wouldn’t start, she said yep that’s fixed but we can replace your tyre, I said no thank you, I was livid.
Go to to collect my car again no paper work about the repair was told it would be emailed, I’m still waiting.
I just find the whole service from the day I got my car to now is shocking. I’m now stuck with a car that’s developing one fault after another for a car that’s not even 3years old.
Every day I drive it I’m expecting something else to go wrong.
Any advice on what I can do, would be much appreciated.

Have you been inspecting the car regularly and have you had it serviced on schedule? Something about your post tells me you might not be doing so. Apologies if I've jumped to an incorrect conclusion but the bit about the tyre is interesting - you clearly didn't notice it needed replacing and when told it needs replacing you declined, yet it could be a safety issue. Why does it need replacing? When did you last check the oil and coolant levels? The brake and steering fluid levels? The tyre condition and pressures?
My point being that there's the possibility that if you're not checking things regularly, the faults you're experiencing are more likely to crop up and when they do, to be more serious than they might have been had you caught them earlier.0 -
What makes you think "you change your car halfway through the agreement"??
Anyways has the car been serviced when it should have been?0 -
"Any advice on what I can do, would be much appreciated."
What might help you is some perspective on things. Your car has developed 2 faults in under 3 years and both have been fixed without cost or quibble....(not sure about the wait regarding the 2nd issue, sounds odd).
If you truly find this "shocking", there might be difficult times ahead when life's real troubles come knocking.
Perhaps some thought on how realistic your expectations of others are, (in general), would help achieve less emotional upset in response to setbacks??
I'm not sure about the negative equity bit, but that sounds like some personal responsibility regarding due diligence needs to be accepted.
Nothing in OP sounds terrible, (just buying from EH!), so I my further advice would be just enjoy your nearly new car

You should be investigating why only one tyre is wearing down quicker than others if this is the issue with the tyre, or does it have a nick or damage? Do you bother checking your tyres at all?
Re changing the car, what do you think happens with the remainder that is owed? Fairies don't make it disappear! Changing car mid agreement is a very expensive way of doing things. If you are on a PCP, you will be in negative equity until the last few months of the agreement, generally.0 -
Sounds like you're !!!!ed off that you can't change your car without dealing with the negative equity and you're picking fault with your current car. Get over it.0

Any chance OP has got confused and overexcited about their right to Voluntarily Terminate?0

Hi yeh,
My car is serviced on time every year as I pay for that monthly with service plan with them0 -
That's good. Are you checking the other things regularly? It is a good routine to get into and helps catch potential problems before they take you off the road. Something I was taught by my grandfather many years ago is still useful, albeit from an era when cars were much less reliable than they are now. He got it from a preventative maintenance programme at work.Hi yeh,

clean to inspect
inspect to detect
detect to correct
correct to protect

Excuse me, but don’t no what voluntary terminat is.
If you read my post. You will see that on a 4 year term I can change my car when it’s half the value which would me now which is 6000 for a car that costs 12000. Yes I should of read the agreement. So I’m to blame for that. I’m really annoyed that the fact they have no clue about customer service lol.
I’ve just called them to remind to send my reports for repair to tell my car is now ready to picked up, hmmm that’s weird as I picked it up on Monday, now you see why I’m peed off as they have no clue what they are doing.
I’ve also had a friend look at my car after they said they changed the coils pack and plugs, these were never changed only wiped down0 -
What plan are you on where you can change your car half way through? if as asked above you mean where you VT then it isnt half way through your term, its when you have paid half of the payment value back.
And as for being shocked you are in negative equity, unless you paid a large deposit then you have been naive to expect anything else.0
