There are plenty of buyers for any house in any area if that house is realistically and sensibly priced.., not so many buyers for properties that are doer uppers on for full market value, or houses with ceiling busting asking prices.

I agree, we are currently in the process of looking for a property and there are plenty on the market, but many of them seem to be unrealistic with their prices and have been sat there for months. Wanting prices that would have been reasonable during the housing peak, but not really now.

The ones that do seem fairly priced and selling pretty damned quickly.

So I looked on the sold properties in our town at our price or £20k lower. Only two have sold in the three months!
Perhaps all of the properties that people are buying in your area are more than £20k cheaper than yours...

There is a hold back due to uncertainty until next month

Expect things to come back to normal in June when the country settles down a bit.

Pretty unlikely they will have it all sorted by June, after all they have been trying to create growth and inflation for a decade now and we are on the brink of a global recession?

So our house has been on the market for three months with little interest. So I looked on the sold properties in our town at our price or £20k lower. Only two have sold in the three months!
This is a good FTBs house and they are all struggling with lack of jobs etc.
I'm "up here" I was a FTB in June. So people are buying up North (well in Boro any ways)

I bought a house that needed renovating. I took 8 months to renovate the house during which time I employed many contractors. As anyone would expect there were a couple of minor issues, however I would recommend every contractor that I used until I employed Hillary's.

I have worked in business consultancy for over 15 years and never in that time have I encountered such appalling customer service and incompetency as I did at Hillary's. After a 4 month struggle I have been left out of pocket due to associated costs, without the carpet that I ordered, paid for and begged them to fit for 4 months, and with no compensation or a formal apology.

They forced a refund on me despite my many calls and emails explaining that I didn't want a refund, I wanted a carpet that was fit for purpose (three visits from carpet fitters who said that they could not fit the carpet because it was not fit for purpose.) They had kept my bank details and transferred the money against my wishes. When I tried to discuss this with someone whom I was told was senior management they informed me that they would not provide a new carpet and could see no way forward. They then informed me that they didn't wish to discuss it further and hung up the phone (apparently their calls are recorded so this call should be available for review).

Finally I have been told that because a refund has been issued (namely the refund that was forced upon me) Hillary's are under no obligation to discuss the case any further. Goodbye.

I cannot stress strongly enough. Do not use this company.
Hillary's quoted me for blinds. The person was really bad, condesending, rude about the competition, overrated his own products and expensive. I went to a rival who charged me the same to do all my windows as they wanted for one window.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

I'm in Mid Lincolnshire and all but 2 of the houses I looked at when I started my house search have sold, even the one that needed totally gutting - timeline around 6 months.

Just checked sold numbers again, our house is up for £150k, agent said £160 but we said £150, and I searched for houses sold between £120k and £150k in the last six months, 27 sold, in the last three months, 2 sold!
So please do not say things are selling as normal!

You can't tell how many in the last 3 months because no all of them will be on the land registry as sold by now whereas all the ones from 6 months ago will.

    2 sold over Christmas/new year...

From around the 20th November, things usually die down until the back end of January. Although December just gone we were relatively busy.

I am sure there are places that are quiet, just as much as there are places that are busy, but overall if you take London out of the equation, I bet there is not a massive difference in transaction levels in general. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong.

There is a massive difference from a few years ago.
