Yerp! I think they settled for a Vauxhall Crossland X SE 1.5 TD

'they' ? On what do you base that on? You are first person to mention that car!
It's a possible candidate - but still the Ford Ecosport is the favourite for example if you select the white version - the car is all white - like the car I saw, however with the Vauxhall an area by the bottom sills is colour coordinated with the bumpers, so not a match.

I was looking down on the vehicle from an upstairs bay window, it slowing passing in amongst crawling traffic. I didn't notice any badge on the grille - which judging by what 'brookside88' wrote is more fitting for the Ford.
Looking at more details on the car - can only see a choice of 1.0 litre petrol, or 1.5 litre diesel! Thought 1.0 ltr too small, why not something like a 1.3? The other thing I didn't like was - 'keyless ignition' read too many stories about them being susceptible to car theft!

This will surely be the turbo petrol at 100ps(?), so near enough the same as the 1.6 I had in my 90's Mondeo!
