UKPS - 28 days past, £60, then £100, now want £160?

Parking at work, took the risk of parking in a permit only area, got a PCN from UKPS. Usual £60 if paid in 14 days, then £100. However the letters were delivered to my other home so missed, 28 days past and a letter came from DRP.

Isn't much I can do to get around the charge. However, gone to pay at UKPS website and they want £160. Can they do this? The signs in the car park say "£100 parking charge". What do I do next? Pay up the £160?

Really do not see this part in the FAQ so asking.

Oh, also have a second PCN, past the discount £60 date but before the 28 days.

yes they can ask for whatever they like , but ge3tting a judge to agree to their demands would be a lot harder, especially the addon charges

your best bet is for the landowner to cancel it

alternatively, you can wait it out for up to 6 years, unless they try a court case, so come back if you get an LoC and/or an MCOL in the post

The letters you are now receiving are all covered in Post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. Have a read through (hint: you're at the ignore but don't bin the letters stage).

Also, if you change address, or have a more recent serviceable address, you would be wise to send the PPC's data protection officer a data rectification notice with your correct address. Their email address will be on their privacy page.

If you have a second PCN, read post #1 of the NEWBIES thread for information about appealing the second one.

You need to be reading post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ thread.

There you will find comprehensive guidance on how to deal with debt collectors letters.

Is that now three tickets in three months with three different operators?

You are one of the prime reasons these companies exist.

Best you think about modifying your parking behaviour some time soon.

the simplest answer is to stop parking on private land where you have no permission to park, its that simple, especially in these modern times where everything is monitored , like in GEORGE ORWELL land

ie:- you dont have the right to just stop where you like , its that poor attitude that means you are racking up pcn after pcn on private property
  • Yes, I'm ignoring DRP totally. Will write to the landlord.

I'm questioning UKPS, within their Payment Gateway I can only pay £160, not £100.

    Parking Charge
    £100.00 Debt Recovery Charge
    £60.00
    Total Charges £160.00
    Total Paid £0.00
    Outstanding Balance £160.00

UKPS probably have DRPL acting as back office so they added their usual £60 onto the charge in order to profit by it, as its no win , no fee, and they want their fee

More to the point, why are you trying to pay it?!

You are currently in limbo, waiting for either the landlord to cancel is, or for the claim (if they bring one).

  • The landlord doesn't care.

So I'm trying to pay this and I can't seem to pay on UKPS web site, I can only pay DRP directly. They have now stated they are to recommend UKPS send me to court.

By the way, DRP has been sending letters to friend's of mine asking for me to pay up. Guess they harass people that have a relation to the debtor as well. Letters are the same as sent to my address.

OH BOY, were you born yesterday ????? you are being scammed

Why are you trying to pay a scammer ?????

DRP spout utter rubbish and as they have no power to do anything, you would be well advised to stay clear of the idiots. That also applies to your friend

DRP are worthless sewer life full of worthless cr*p

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
