It is an annoying reply. Get back to them with more disgust, more insistence and sock it to 'em about the low number of parking spaces too. Are you able to actually count them yourself? 35-ish definitely sounds too few for two large restaurants.

This online form you mention ... I wouldn't use any online form for a complaint. Or are you referring to the appeal process? That needs to be done within the timeframe for sure.

So over the last couple of days I have not had much joy. I have pasted 2 replies below from Chiquitos. Does anyone have further advice? Should I appeal directly to Park Watch within 14 days?

The 2 replies today are both from Chiquitos. I have had no further response from Arena Coventry. By the way should Chiquitos be able to have the vehicle details or is this in some way a breach of GDPR?

    Dear xxxx

The Area Manager and restaurant management team for Coventry have attempted to get this parking ticket cancelled on your behalf.

Unfortunately, our appeals have been unsuccessful as the parking agents have stated that you were parked incorrectly, as your car was not in a designated parking space - They have provided us with the attached image showing your car parked in breach of the parking stipulations.

We're sorry that we have been unable to assist in the matter, if you still wish to challenge this I'm afraid you'll need to appeal to the parking agents directly.

    Yours sincerely,

    Hi xxxx

Thanks for your email, we sent you a response this morning at 9:04 but it appears you may not have received this.

In our email, we advised you that the Area Manager and restaurant management team for Coventry have attempted to get this parking ticket cancelled on your behalf. Unfortunately, our appeals have been unsuccessful as the parking agents have stated that you were parked incorrectly, as your car was not in a designated parking space - They have provided us with the below images showing your car parked in breach of the parking stipulations and as such have rejected our appeal to have your ticket revoked.

We're sorry that we are been unable to assist further in this matter, if you still wish to challenge this I'm afraid you'll need to appeal to the parking agents directly.

    Kind Regards,
    Craig

  • So day 14 would be this Saturday, which is only 3 days away.

I have just rechased both our contact at Chiquitos and Arena Coventry again as there have been no replies to my emails sent 7th March and 8th March respectively.

Not sure what other advice you can give here? Should I appeal to the email address on the back of the PCN so that the maximum the fine could be would be £60

Appreciate all the help. Still hopeful I can get this overturned.

If you're talking here about the initial appeal to PW, why are you worrying about 14 days? If it's the pressure of the 'reduced' figure of £60, and you know full well that PW will reject your initial appeal (99% of PPCs reject 99% of initial appeals) - where does that leave you? Happy to pay the £60? If that's the case, why waste a stamp on an initial appeal, use that on the envelope enclosing the cheque!

Come on, think about this. Brain engagement time!

The NEWBIES thread already tells you int e Q&A not to read about the 14 day 'discount' bribe, and not to think you have to appeal within 14 to 'freeze' the charge (doesn't happen anyway). Take you eyes OFF the 'discount'! IT IS NOT A BARGAIN.

We complain and we appeal - see NEWBIES thread - and we pay zero, not £60.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well at the end of the last week the PCN was cancelled - after we wrote a detailed reply to both Arena Coventry and Chiquitos citing things like the inadequate number of spaces, that I would write to all the retailers and of course the uncertain economic climate.

While I am grateful for the advice on this post and to most who have replied I have to say a few comments are a tad unnecessary such as

"why waste a stamp on an initial appeal, use that on the envelope enclosing the cheque!
Come on, think about this. Brain engagement time!"

Although you may have really good advice and experience on PCN's and other issues many of us don't - please try to help others without too much sarcasm,

Anyway I hope everyone enjoys their day and that this post helps others who may have been fined at this site.

Yay!!! Best & easiest result. Sounds like you really laid it all on the line which is the way to go, I think. Well done!

As for sarcasm, frankly the most experienced members probably have little option but to encourage people to think for themselves, sometimes with a bit of a pointy stick. If they didn't do that I'd imagine the site would be inundated with the type of queries most of us can answer for ourselves if we try & many posts would go unanswered - there are hundreds & hundreds of folk needing support, often with complex cases.

FWIW, in the time I've been here I've not seen one person who is in deep doo doos left in the lurch, even if they have clearly compounded their own problems. I'll take a bit of sarcasm any day in exchange for that dedication, expertise & good-heartedness.

A nice bit of selective quoting I see.

For those who have not read my fuller post, and for total context, here it is.

Nevertheless, well done on getting this cancelled - monkey off your back.

Last time he/she looked in here was 4 months ago. Don't expect you'll get a reply. Try sending them a PM - they'll receive an email from the forum (if they've enabled that function).
