Hi can anyone tell me how to do a factory reset as my laptop keeps saying "No bootable device Hit any key" the boot option menu, then says no bootable device restart system. When I goto alt / f10 and then reset PC it says "unable to reset your PC, A required drive partition is missing" the refresh option says its locked, automatuc repair doesnt work, system restore says you must specify which windows installation to restore, system image recovery doesnt work either.
Anyone know how I can do a factory reset please?
thanks in advance.

3 ways to reset acer laptop to factory settings without password:
Way 1: Reset Acer laptop to factory settings with installation or repair disk (For Windows 10/8.1)
Way 2: Restore Acer laptop to factory settings with "Alt + F10" keys (For Windows 10/8.1)
Way 3: Reset Acer laptop to factory settings from ERecovery Management (For Windows 7/Vista)

Try ALT & F10 key when bootingMr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
Acer TravelMate B113 Black - Core i3-3227U (1.9GHz/3MB) 4GB DDR3 320GB 11.6" HD LED Win8HP 64Bit NO-OD Intel UMA Graphics webcam BT 4.0 3xUSB 2.0 1YR

Sounds to me as if either of:
1. The hidden recovery partition has been deleted - in whicch case you are totally kebbabed.
Do youk now the history of the laptop - has it been in your hands since new, has the hard disk been replaced?
Deleting an entire partition requires someone to positively do it with a disk partition management program.
or
2. The HDD has totally failed and that means both the operating partition and the recovery partition are now kebbabed.0 -
Alt + F10" keys take me to reset but then says "unable to reset your PC, A required drive partition is missing"0

hard disk been replaced - never
Deleting an entire partition I wouldnt even know how,
Ive had it since it was bought, never any probs till now.
If option 2 is the case, is it worth being paid to be repaired or buy a new one?0 -

You left out a third possibility, which is quite telling. Fixing it yourself.
It doesn't help that the other posters have made it sound like an insurmountable task. But it's fairly simple.
The biggest issue is likely to be creating new installation media if you don't have another laptop/PC to hand.
But if you do have one or have access to one, it's a quick and easy job.
£20 for a replacement SSD storage drive, a USB Flash drive of at least 8GB and a screwdriver is what is needed.0 -
Sounds like the hard drive has failed (or the drive controller has). First off, try a fresh install of Windows, if that fails due to a faulty drive and you feel confident that the drive is the fault, a guaranteed compatible replacement solid state drive from Crucial is listed at:
https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/travelmate-b113-m#SSDFilters
The 250GB will suffice, but you will need a copy of Windows to install.
It’s a hard lesson, but hardware does fail and you need your operating system and your files backed up.0 -

Guaranteed compatible replacement?? What are you talking about? :rotfl:
What hard lesson? The OP is willing to run a Factory Restore, so clearly no issue with losing data and there's no problem with downloading and installing the operating system.
It's all run of the mill.
Guaranteed compatible replacement....:D
Any 2.5" SATA drive is compatible and unless the OP need drive encryption, they are free to buy any model, from as little as £18 for 120GB.0 -
Guaranteed to fit the laptop... their words, not mine0
