Is Vodafone lying to me?
Hi
I upgraded my contact last week via online chat. The phone was supposed to be delivered yesterday.
No sign of the phone so I rang Vodafone. I was told that the online chat person had put the delivery date down for the 29th March by mistake.
I asked customer services to cancel the upgrade as he said it was the only way to new phone. He said it would take up to 24 hours to cancel the upgrade and then i could reorder.
I rang this morning up be told that this hasn't been done and that it takes 3-5 working days to cancel an upgrade. I then asked for the PAC code so I could take out a brand new contract with a different provider. I was told if I did that I would have to pay for the new upgrade with them!
So I'm now stuck with no phone (my phone broke with a SIM only plan).
Is there any way round this? Or am I supposed to have no phone for a week due to Vodafone messing up? I can't believe it takes 3-5 days to cancel an upgrade when I haven't even received phone?

Buy your new phone SIM free elsewhere, let the cancellation go through and stay SIM-only. This will be cheaper, and if you can then find a cheaper SIM-only deal elsewhere you can become free from Vodafone and their nonsense.Evolution, not revolution0

Whatever you do don't bother going to a vodafone store to get it sorted as all they can do there is sell you a phone. You cant cancel or try and sort any mistakes in store.0

My experience with Vodafone is that it's routine for them to tell you what you want to hear over the phone without actually doing what they say they will.
Is Vodafone lying? Very likely.0 -

Is Vodafone lying? Very likely.
I thought it was their intrinsic state.0
