If you were going to see a car quite a distance away whats the best way to sort out insurance so your insured for driving it away there and then?
If it was closer normally you could view then go away and sort insurance etc then go collect it the next day/few days later. But when it's a longer distance invoked I don't want to make 2 trips therefore if everything is fine with the car I'd want to just take it there and then. All seems fine from the info I have so pretty sure I'd be taking it but don't want to go and set up insurance for a year then get there and its massive different from the ad/info I have or the seller hasn't been honest.

Take out a yearly insurance policy before you go.You have 14 days to cancel a policy when taken out over the phone or online. Most insurers don't charge to cancel in this period except for days that have been used. After 14 days you occur cancellation fees.

I bought a car last week. I just obtained a quote online and then between paying and driving away accepted the quote and paid the insurance on my phone and then taxed the car on my phone too.
