Has anybody bought and used the Asus EEE yet?
What are they like?
Should I buy one or keep saving for a DSLR?
Thanks

Thank you very much GoofyGAT. I posted information about this laptop last night because a man wanted a cheap laptop for his child to do homework on.
But, I am so pleased that you posted all those links. I have only read two but both are complimentary. I nearly had a fit when I read on the Telegraph link that it cost £1500 and was less in size than an A4 sheet of paper until I realised hey were talking about a SONY one. I hope to buy the ASUS if they have not yet sold out.0 -
I bought one last week and it's fab! About the size of a hardback novel, boots up in about 15seconds, fully wi-fi. Very easy to use thanks to the user-friendly Linux interface. Surfing and emails are a doddle. Built in webcam and mike and comes with Skype so you can videocall from it. An amazing amount of computer in such a small package. Don't expect mass storage or high level gaming prowess or a desktop replacement - it is however an excellent machine.0

I'd wait, a 10inch screen version is coming out soon, and from what i understand its no bigger than the current model.0

And the 279.66 Euro question!
Is it worth it?
And should I get rid of my old PIII 800Mhz lappy (incidentally running Ubuntu)?
Thanks.0 -
