Motorola V220 on Virgin

I desperately want this phone and have missed quite a few offers on it Just spotted that it is on offer on the virgin network at £59.99 including £15 of airtime which seems really good

Can someone please tell me if virgin is any good (would be mainly calling o2) or if there is a better deal around and i should pass on this??

If your going to mainly call o2 then probably best to use an o2 sim?

Can i buy the phone, use up the free credit then just put in my old 02 sim? sorry to sound so thick

No it'll be locked to virgin, there is a separate unlocking thread where people will tell you how to unlock/cost etc

Can't imagine why you want the phone in the first place. I got one recently and it is probably the worst phone I have ever had.

The first 2 I had didn't work and had to be replaced. There is a constant humming in the ear but cannot be bothered to go through the change again so will keep until upgraded.
It is also beginning to look very battered after only 3 months use and it is not abused. Screen is quite poor quality.

Apart from that it is OK

My son has the V220 on Virgin and it is the nicest phone I've seen in a long time. He hasn't had a moments problem since he bought it and he bought a refurbished one. He is only 14 so this phone gets banged around, left in the sun, stuffed in a rucksack and still looks perfect.

Once you have had £30 of credit on it Virgin will unlock it for free, just give them a call the details are in the booklet.

I bought this phone a few weeks ago and its fine.

I had it with 12 months free line rental on o2 with 100xnet and 100 text every month. This offer has now finished but they still offer some months free line rental. Also phone is sim free. MY oh had the Sony Ericison on same deal and its a nicer phone and blue tooth

Thanks for everyones help. I have finally ordered the sony erikson ks whitsit with the camera on 6 months free line rental posted on another thread. It is on 02 and seems to be all singing all dancing so i thought i'd treat myself
