PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.
We're aware that some users are experiencing technical issues which the team are working to resolve. See the Community Noticeboard for more info. Thank you for your patience.

To me that sounds like they don't routinely read every thread on the forum checking for things that need moderation, and instead just look at the threads and posts that are reported.
What you seem to be saying is that they don't even read the reported posts and just presume that the report was justified.0 -
I have seen a trend in the last few months where people get quite upset if they don't get the answers they were expecting. So now any offended snowflake can complain and that's it? The thought police step in?0

Pretty much - and if they've received more than one report from the same person then it's curtains - whether its justified or not. Just one of the joys of MSE :rotfl:0 -

Pretty much like the other forums I belong to..some debates can be brutal and often descend into slanging matches... especially the ones I am on mostly animal related ... I tend to stand well back it can be scary :rotfl:0 -
People with narcissistic personality disorder will report anyone about anything if they don't get to read what they want to read. The problem with letting them get away with doing this is that they then take over because they love to control what is written.
You have to have people with a different point of view on anything even if it upsets people with NPD and they love the internet because they can spread their poisonous points of view without anyone know who they are.
If you get someone who constantly reports people you can more or less guarantee that they have NPD.0 -
lol, that's a nice scientifically balanced diagnosis. I reported a post last week for being racist. I should change my user name to narccy6660

You have to do it a lot and for posts where you just don't agree with what the person has written which isn't racist etc. Anything that you don't like you report if you have NPD. They do it to get control of what is written and who is writing it.0 -
Given that pixie hasn’t been banned there is nothing for anyone to do.
Incidentally, the forum is not moderated, there is a small forum team of MSE staff who look after the forum, but they don’t moderate.
pixie is free to reply to the email from them that would have explained her yellow card.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Forum Ambassadors are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an illegal or inappropriate post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com (it's not part of my role to deal with this).
