CIFAS Impact

I am a Manager in a company and unfortunately I did not check if the expenses that I approve for my team are genuine and now the company has raised a CIFAS against me as FRAUD and refuse to remove that even after investigations and requests. What impact would it have on my

1. Future Employments ( with Banks, Financial Companies etc )
2. Mortgage Renewals
3. Future Loans if needed

I have a family and young daughters and quite stressful now. Please help.

Cheers
Stephen

Your employer has reported you for fraud?

It might be worth seeing if there is anything on your credit report relating to it. If not, then you could call CIFAS and ask how you obtain a copy of your report from them.

Hello ACG - Yes they believe that I am a part of that . I tried to explain and request them but they are not in mood to listen and understand. Which they told they will do next week sometime.

I am worried to apply for Jobs as well and my mortgage is due this year for renewal. How to deal with them.

Hello ohreally - I did not but my employer believes that this a fraud in connection with my team member as I approved the claims.

It's unclear to me, is your job in jeopardy/ has the employer dismissed or do you feel this is imminent?

What appears to give them a reasonable belief that fraud has occurred and how does this link back to you?

I do not think your employer can just report you to CIFAS. I suppose there are exceptions but I am guessing you do not work for a large company? Assuming not, then I doubt it would get logged with CIFAS as they would be opening themselves up to a court case for your losses (ie unable to get a new job, new mortgage deal and so on).

I think you need legal advice really but only once you know what they will be doing - assuming it is anything more than dismissing you.

it is not a large company but a small insurance company and they did say that they will report to CIFAS and will impact . So I am worried.

You didn't check expenses claims, you're employer did right.
