Ha, I love how people judge without knowing the facts!

I collect airmiles and avios - I have done for years and have plenty! This is done through card applications etc! I certainly don't have a debt problem!

But yeah, Chino, you keep judging and believing that everyone who has some sort of clearance is squeaky clean in all areas of their lives - considering public sector workers are paid quite badly! (PS I'm not employed by the public sector and never will be ;-))

    Thanks everyone else (not Chino)

Maybe posters should explain their situation first to prevent concussions being jumped to?

We see it here all the time - posters never give the full story from the off, then later it comes to light that there's actually more to it than meets the eye

Its not an application for another CC. Its for some government clearance.

Is this the identity confirmation for the Government Gateway if you don't hold a valid U.K. Passport?
If so it is a real pain in the backside. I recently tried to register and obtain a tax refund transfer direct to my bank account rather than a posted cheque.
They outsource the check apparently and why they can't verify identity etc. electronically like any other organisation baffles me.
The questions are so ambiguous. I failed four times, even after referring to my credit files. Gave up and phoned so a cheque could be sent. Up to two months for a cheque to arrive!
