    This is the sort of thing that that twitter works brilliantly for. A public message - friendly of course, but assertive - drawing peoples attention to 1. poor quality stuff and 2. store closures should get them into reassurance mode.

    But why should she? A £40 skirt should be of sufficient quality to last more than 2 wears.

    You're correct, she doesn't have to.
    She can return it the nearest branch, or spend hours on messages, forums, phone, etc . .


    . . or spend a few minutes sewing the hem and repairing the belt. OPs choice.
