    Patty cake - sensible advice

I would like to know where I stand legally. With so many high street branches closing this must be happening to others.

Unfortunately you don't have any more legal just because the high street is suffering.

People just got their Singer sewing machine out and fixed it.
    I'm a fella, even I can do it . . ;)

You have the right to return the item to them and get a replacement or refund. Why can't you just post it to them? Whether they like the idea or not is neither here nor there.

    Good point Fosterdog. Plus parking.

It’s a skirt. The seam has unravelled, the hem has come down and the stitching on the belt is coming undone. I’ve worn it twice. I’m just irritated that they have given me a flat ‘can’t help’.

Maybe it’s not worth pursuing for £40.

What on earth have you been doing in it - climbing trees? To suffer this sort of damage after two wearings it would have to be made out of paper.

Or it's poorly made and the stiching hasn't been finished correctly.

    When did you purchase it?

    Purchased in early December.

I’m a really competent seamstress actually. But the skirt is just poorly made.

In effect it's an RTB warranty, so it's up to you to return it by whatever means you choose to.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
