Anyone else doing anything or am I just a paranoid android about the whole thing?
I've always had a few things in as not driving (so I stock up a bit on cheaper priced shelf stable stuff when I'm nearby & can carry it / bus it /get a lift) and my parents poor health (and associated numerous hospital stays) has meant having stuff to hand and not having to shop when I don't have much time has made life much easier. It was decidedly haphazard what I had in at any given time though!

I did a stock-take of everything I had in over Xmas. I've not really upped stocks of food for the B word (my kitchen is tiny so I couldn't expand it much anyway!) but more optimised it! I sat down and made a list of the sorts of foods I'd like to cook from shelf stable / freezer stuff and the ingredients I'd need for those and decided on minimum numbers of tins/packets of stuff to have in that I could turn into actual multiple meals. No point in wanting to cook 101 meals with a tomato base element if I've only got 1 tin of chopped tomatoes in for example or chickpea daal if I don't have enough spices and used the last of the chickpeas in the stew at the weekend!

I have added a few bits just in case like more frozen veg (eg peppers & mixed veg when I would usually mostly choose the fresh equivalent) and an extra bag of bread flour but they'll get used up over time anyway whatever happens. I've put everything in the "Out of milk" app and have added expiry dates etc so I can keep an eye on the stocks & BB dates.

I have a supply of dried and tinned goods and powdered milk, with lots of butter in the freezer. It won't be day 1 that will be a problem, it will take a few days for the French delays to customs processing to kick in with the risk that the lorries can't get out of UK quickly enough to be able to get the return load here. Assuming no transition period.

    OK, spent some more yesterday:

£4.50 - Lidl (Gammon, onions, risotto rice)
£3.25 - Sainsburys (Squash & chicken casserole mixes)
    £2.08 - Lidl (milk & bananas)

    Total now: £196.97/£300

Still need to get some sliced ham this week (DD eats ham like it's going out of fashion!), a whole chicken for Sunday roast and some Dr pepper zero.

Got the Gammon in the slow cooker for tonights tea, tomorrows sandwiches and tomorrows tea.

I have been getting a few extras in for the b-word, but nothing major. We have quite a well stocked store cupboard anyway with rice, pasta, cous cous, tinned veg etc and a freezer full to the brim. Have also started off growing a lot of stuff this year so we can be a bit more self reliant from early Summer onwards.

I've got plenty of flour in to make bread if needs be, and have been keeping an eye out for a second hand bread maker. I'm also just being careful to ensure that essentials are replaced in a timely manner/have a spare of them in already.

Popped into town for some bread, and a throat spray for my neighbour, £9.20 spent between Tescos on 2 loaves a t.v. mag and 3 y.s. cheese, and Home Bargains on a new washing up bowl and 2 tubs of gum.
Do I need it or just want it.

Just left with the milk but thinking i have a few things i can add milk to so will do that with the extra in . Hoping for 4 nsd which should be fine and a less than 10 quid budget , basically 7.70 left . My shopping needs for next few weeks are milk, spinach ,onions, garlic and maybe bread
