On the personal front, OH and I are getting married in the next three weeks and the wedding is rapidly approaching! I’m trying to nail down the last bits and prioritize the stuff that doesn’t really matter in the long run. :) OH arrives in town April 9th and it’ll be good to hug him.

Some more good news: we applied for an apartment in Scotland and we got it! He signed the lease yesterday and is moving in today/Friday (Brexit Day!). This was a key component to us applying for my UK Spouse visa after we get married. I’m so glad that’s in the bag now. So yeah, lots going on and I can’t wait to just crash Sunday night and catch up on more of the posts.

Have a good Friday everyone! :j

Congratulations on the new apartment and on your impending nuptuals. I hope your wedding day is memorable for all the best reasons.

Does this mean you’ll be moving again shortly? It seems like yesterday that you moved back to your apartment in New York City. What will you do with it this time?

Thank you Pip. My subtenant will move back in. She has temporarily decamped to her partner’s apartment to try out living with him for a bit. :) Hopefully I’ll be in Scotland by the end of the summer or at least end of July.

I have definitely gone over this month, and not sure where my receipts are for my last few spends. I will be dipping out now due to a housemove and change in circumstances, and will join in July.

My budget from May will then have to cater for DD1 (omni) and GD (dairy free) and myself who is vegan and DD2 (now vegan) who has to complete her exams but rejoining us mid June.

    Good luck.

  • Lovely Easter weather! Hope everyone's ok.
Through March and April I've tried to do weekly shops on a set day. It hasn't worked very well. Sigh.
Previously I would let the fridge run down, and shop when I couldn't scratch any more proper meals together. When I am eating here on my own I go for easier stuff and stretch my shops out as far as possible for ease and economy, with less regard for 'proper' meals, as long as I get all my food groups in.
Now I'm shopping weekly it seems to come round too quickly, I always feel like I have overlapping foodstuffs, it's more effort, and it seems more complicated to meal plan including the stuff that's lying around.
I feel all at sea! In May I'm going to go back to the old way I think. I suppose it was worth a try. Everything's worth a try!
