March 2019 Grocery Challenge

That's me done for March, and coming in well under budget, with a tenner to add onto next months budget, so that I can re-stock a few store cupboard bits.
I'm off on holiday the 5th - 14th, which is all pre-paid, so April should be a cheap month, food-wise.Because it's fun to have money!

Hi Everyone,
Just reporting for March...
I've spent £179.61, which takes me to £1338.76 remaining of my annual £1800 budget. I've managed 23 NSDs which I'm pleased with.
Honestly I was hoping to spend less this month, and get myself ahead. I didn't manage that, but I have been out a few times, including a couple of meals. So, could have done better moneywise, but I have had a nice time!!
If I consider that £1800 for the year averages £150 per month, then I'm only £11 over in the first 3 months of 2019... Much better than I would have done without the thread, so thank you all.A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks0 -
Gahhhhh! I thought I would get away without shopping before tomorrow but Dad wants to go to Aldi today. It is very rare for us to go more frequently than once every 2- 3 weeks & we were there last weekend but no, he wants to go today. (I'm his carer - He needs help shopping but refuses to try online shopping as he prefers Aldi stuff.). I'm sure it is just a ruse to avoid the decluttering I had planned on helping him with (at his request)! Oh well not my problem if he wants his chest of drawers full of stuff that he hasn't worn in years / doesn't fit instead of the stuff he actually wears! :silenced:
I've got £27.04 left in March's budget so my challenge is to not spend much... hopefully at most the £7.04. Famous last words... Oh well I was wondering about checking out some of the bedding on offer at Aldi so I guess I get my chance! :rotfl:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Forgot to declare last night. OH did not go to the shops so
£271.66/£248
£23.66 over.
Not good at all.
We are budgeting £180 for April. This will force us to go through the freezer draws and cupboard items that need using.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Wrapping up March somewhere near target grocery wise, need to curb other spends now.Do I need it or just want it.0

Just added up for March and declaring at £118.77 for the month. This is well under my £150 budget, but my intention of doing some stocking up was thwarted by not feeling well for a lot of the time. Feeling much better now and hoping for a more normal month in April.0

Kept approximately to budget. Had a busy and stressful time at home which led to spends not all being accounted for. The OH is no good at letting me know what he spent. I have decided I'm going to put cash in an envelope for April and see if that works better. Budget will be £85 x 4 weeks.0

Just totted up my last few receipts and spent £8.54 over the past ten days, mainly F&V but a lovely sirloin steak crept in there too. I did manage to make it last two meals though, slicing it thinly to go with some noodles and stir fried veg
.
That brings my total for March to £69.83 = 0.17p to spare :j
See you all in April.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
Thank you very much to people who were kind enough to reply to my [STRIKE]whining like a baby[/STRIKE] sciatica condition. I feel embarrassed I even mentioned it. I've never even had flu, so I literally went into meltdown and couldn't cope - lucky me really having escaped this stuff most of my life. I'm still crawling, as can't walk, but put some old jumpers on my knees and now I have lovely polished floors (sad git). Anyway ditched the painkillers and Valium and have bought a bottle of VODKA - might as well kill pain in style.
Anyhow, that s the very last have to say on the subject. am declaring at £80. Bought a shop, which I will put the extra on April. See you in April everyone.
