I have not really had any signifiicant spends - I am somewhat housebound - I have sciatica and awaiting an mri scan. I am on painkillers (don't work), am crawling up the stairs, as I cannot walk mostly and Valium for muscle spasm (which I really don't want to take but i'm desperate for relief), so have very much been living out of my vast stores.
Oh my word, that sounds awful Save Dosh.Do you have any help?

Sorry have been AWOL, had my mind elsewhere. Spun out a bit and indulged in a couple takeaways etc as a result. So total grocery spends for March came to £366.27/£300.
I didn't make my target, BUT, I did reduce my spend by £33.24 compared to last month. An 8.32% improvement. So I'll take it!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

OH arrives in town April 9th and it’ll be good to hug him.

So sorry, meant to say congrats on this and the new apartment.
To be honest I've only told a couple of people, due to the fact that I was supposed to be meeting up with them individually, and had to cancel. One turned up with an overnight bag, seriously stressed me out, created more work than help, though she meant well and now I have all the bedding to wash from the room she stayed in (moan, moan and triple moan), the other offered help/shopping, just to ask. It only happened Tuesday. I told my son today, as he will be 'round Sunday, but he worries about me and I don't like to burden him, my daughter and lodger are amazing - so can grab me some fresh bits, they won't mind, so really sorted and I'm ordering an online shop, arriving 2moz, which I will split between this months leftovers and add the rest to April, needs be. My place I keep tidy all the time (mostly anyway - bit of a cleanaholic), so lucky there. I'm just feeling sorry for myself as I can't ease the pain. Got a stong CBD oil coming tomorrow - safer than Valium, hopefully that will help (not from grocery funds). Will further update sig, if/when I get order.
Wow, never feel ashamed to ask for help, and specific kinds too. You may feel too bold asking for "I need help putting clothes in the wash" because it may feel grabby but people genuinely want to feel useful. And I'm sure you're prioritizing things well, but don't forget to put some things in the F*ck It Bucket while you're ill/unable!0 -
I had a huge spend of about £65 on Thursday (stocking up for dd's 2 weeks at home alone and some holiday treats/travel snacks) taking my total to £250.46 out of £260 for the month. I'll be leaving the £9 odd for bread, milk and whatever else she needs so I'm calling GC for March bang on budget.

Congrats on impending nuptials and new abode Jingsmybucket,
Savedosh, know what you mean regarding no help is sometimes better than some, my neighbour keeps nagging me when I bend "mind your back" despite having been told umpteen times it`s standing still or an upward stretch throws me into a spasm, I too take valium when really bad, supposed to relax muscles, I worry though about its addictive qualities so try to manage with just 1 or 2.
£26.55 in aldi this morning will update sig later.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
We took the eye off the ball
but I kept the receipts and just added them all up.
Since last post we have spent £79.49 . Little shops really add up.
I'm having vegetable stew and half a gluten free baguette for dinner later.
Not sure what OH is going to have though.
£271.66/£248
£23.66 over.
Hoping this is all the spending for this month but OH may shop later so we'll see, tomorrow neither of us can shop so I'll be able to declare by tonight.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Congratulations, Jings, how exciting! And commiserations to Save Dosh too, sciatica's no fun whatsoever.
I've lost the plot to the extent I hadn't realised that Friday's spends are actually in April, pay-wise! So I'd better trot off, add them up & "appear" Over There... been somewhat busy for the last few days, trying to catch up with myself!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Thank you pamsdish and thriftwizard
. OH just started moving in today to the new flat in Edinburgh.
I just bought some eggs on the way home from the event I’m working at this weekend: $2.99. I was about to declare for March but I forgot Sunday is still technically March. I’ll wait to see how I feel tomorrow evening after the last day of the event.
TOTALS SO FAR:
$315.82 / $300.00
