"Hey you, I can see you being naughty! Now get off my garden before I call the po-lice."
Any burglar will simply tell you to **** off and brick the camera.0 -

I've got one. Not for security, just to see who is at the door when someone knocks. TBH I wouldn't recommend it. The video freezes for about 10 seconds when it activates. I contacted them about it and they blamed my broadband connection. (Strange as I can stream films and play online games with no issues) then they said the doorbell is too far from the router, it's about 10ft. Googling the issue reveals its a known hardware issue and they just lie about it. When you do want to talk to someone at the door through the app there is a long delay and the sound quality is poor. Again they blame slow broadband and "packet loss" for this.
The tamper proof screw is just a little star shaped screw in the bottom of the cover. You just undo it with a little screwdriver so its a 10 second job to steal it if you want. Although you would have a video of it. (Assuming the pay the £25 per year subscription)0 -
I thought if you reported the theft and had a crime number (I know, not worth the paper its written on with our Police 'Service') then you could get a free replacement0

Doesn't the fact that they offer free replacements imply that they expect them to be stolen ?0
-
If they expected them to be stolen, offering free replacements would be a dumb business model.0

The other reasons that Ring can offer replacements are because a) they don't cost them a lot to make, and b) they have stats of how many get claimed for.
It's also possible that some fool in the marketing department thinks it helps them sell more and doesn't care about what it costs, because that's someone else's budget. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Tbh it would persuade me to buy one if they offered replacement for stolen ones.
I think I might invest in CCTV that’s more discreet. A Ring doorbell was stolen from my area last weekend.0
