HTC Touch - has anyone used one?
I'm considering the HTC touch, I've read mixed reviews on the internet but most of the reviews are pretty good. Has anyone got this phone? Would you recommend it?
Is there anything annoying about the phone? I do send alot of texts.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi, I have an HTC Touch phone (that I'm currently trying to sell on amazon). It's OK generally, but you have to use a stylus to text, which I find really annoying because my eyesight isn't the best, and the alarm noise choice is limited (to starltling).
Aside from that it's nice and dinky, really easy to link up to your pc and great for storing data like photos and word documents. It also has a good camera on it.
Hope this was useful to you. x0 -
I had it briefly (about a week) on Tmobile but had to change it as for some reason I couldn't link to my voicemail on it. I took it back, tried another one and had the same thing happen. I was in the shop for about an hour with the manager and we couldn't get it to dial voicemail from the notification link. It also had an annoying tendency to connect to the internet whenever it felt like it.
I also had problems with linking to the pc, but that's probably because I've got Vista, as I have the same problem with my Compac III.0 -
I had it for a few days too! Sent it back after it kept ignoring the fact I asked it to connect to wi-fi and would keep trying to connect to web n walk instead...
That and I found it a bit slow to change menus and pages. It drove me a little bit nuts to be honest.0 -
Thanks for all your replies.0

The touchflo software is just a gimmick on it, and is almost useless. Other than that it is just another windows mobile device. If you text a lot I would recommend you stay away as has been said you have to use the stylus, and it's just a pain in the butt.0

I think I'm going to go for the Sony Ericsson P1i with Dialaphone..0

P1i is a good choice. Have you considered the N95 8gb? Or even the new Nokia E51 which looks very nice. Depends what you want it for I suppose.0

I do like the N95 but I can get the P1i on a o2 cash back deal including quidco for just £14 a month, 400 mins and 500 texts through Dialphone.0 -
Wow. I'm astonished at all the negative replies about the HTC Touch.
I have had mine for a couple of months now and love it.
Some of the replies seem to be to be a lack of knowledge on how to use this device.
There are loads of really smart new SIPs (different style keyboards) available for this, including ones that replicate the t9 input style and full qwerty keyboards that you CAN use your finger for quite easily rather than only the stylus.
As for the DATA connection connecting on its own, I don't have this problem, however you could have simply just installed the MODACO NODATA program which will allow you to toggle individually your GPRS or MMS etc to prevent the possibility of any unwanted data usage.
I agree with the fact that the included alarm tones for windows mobile professional 6 aren't the best, but that's like saying the N95 is a poor phone cos you don't like the ringtones... just put a new alarm tone on the phone.. simple.
I have a 4gb card in mine which can hold loads of movies, music and as it is a windows mobile pocket PC there is loads and loads of software that you can download and install on it.
Don't write it off as a bad phone because of ignorance of how to use it.. (no offense meant - it is just a little more complex to use than some standard phones)
Have a look at the XDA Developers website under the section entitled HTC ELF - it's the same phone0 -
Hi, I have been given the HTC touch phone aand want to use it on the works T mobile rather than the Orange it is locked to. Does anyone knowhow to unlock these so that I can use a different network SIM.
