Howden's Kitchen Refund

I'll try and keep this short, we ordered a kitchen via Howden's. It's been delivered, but we are not happy. Nearly every door has scratches or deep marks on them, the splash back has scratches all over it. We opened another box ourselves (previously our fitter was doing this) - We noted how there is only cardboard protecting face of the doors, no blue plastic or padding.
I paid on credit card for the kitchen, at the Howden's branch. However I note on the invoice it's against the builders name (as Howden's only sell to the trade) - So I paid, on behalf of the builder in effect?
How do I stand with section 75 and the return of faulty goods? I was thinking I could call my credit card company to obtain a refund if Howden's refuse.

What is the state of the units, are they installed or in boxes still?0
-
Or shrink wrap as a minimum
I.e have they been unpacked?0 -
Thanks for quick response, some units are unboxed, but most are opened and on the wall. Splashback, some end units are still boxed which we peeled cardboard off in a corner to inspect.
No shrink rap on the doors, even when packed.0 -
Just to add, the delivery invoice states:
Customer/Delivery Address:
[Builders Company Name]
[My Address]
Reference:
[My Name]0 -
That is a shame.
If they are defective Howdens will sort you.
If there is a chance the builder or yourself damaged them then his end will fight it0 -
You complain to your builder before he wastes time fitting them and he complains toi howdens.
Why do you want a refund? Dont you want the rest of the doors and splashbacks fitted? I would have thought you just want replacements.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
its the builder who has the contract with howdens, why did he fit the units if you werent happy with them.
what has the builder said , he must have a relationship with howdens so should be easy for him to sort,
as above why do you want a refund0 -
Section 75 doesn't apply. Howdens are good with this kind of stuff.
Nearly every door has scratches as well as the splash backs? This would be very unusual and they will want to know why.
Your contract is with the fitter not Howdens, all you did was pay the fitters bill.0
