Does SA302 exist any more?

Looking to re-mortgage, but the financial advisor needs my wife's SA302 forms for thje last three years.
If we go into her HMRC account online, any reference to SA302 takes her to 'tax overview' documents, which the advisor says he CANNOT accept.
If you google SA302, it suggests HMRC stopped doing them in September 2017.
We're so confused and at a complete standstill.
She doesn't use an accountant, she doesn't earn much and we do self-assessment online.
Help!

SA302s have not existed for a good year or so unless you get them over the phone and posted out.
Tax calculations in conjunction with Tax year overviews are what your broker needs and should be accepting.
This is a good guide and is applicable for the vast majority of lenders - https://intermediaries.aldermore.co.uk/media/1053/mortgages_toolkit_hmrc_how_to_guide_broker.pdfI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. My wife just spent 30 minutes on the phone to HMRC and they denied any existence of SA302.
They told her to go with online options or offered to send her a 'letter of employment history'
We're just gonig round in circles with this financial advisor saying he needs SA302 and HMRC denying the things even exist, even by post.0 -
Maybe they do not even exist through HMRC anymore. Your broker is the one in the wrong in any event. What you have found is correct.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Even if they do exist, they are no longer the norm.
So I would be looking for a new broker of if you like the person (does not sound like your his biggest fan) explaining to your broker why he no longer needs SA302s and what you have supplied is now what lenders would expect to see.
To be fair, if he is an IFA then he probably does not do too many mortgages and concentrates more on Pensions/Investments.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The tax calculation (also known as an SA302) and tax year overviews are separate documents, which most lenders use in conjunction with one another to evidence your income.
if you submit the information yourself to HMRC, you should be able to access the SA302's online through the HMRC website. there's a guide here as to where to find it https://www.gov.uk/sa302-tax-calculation
if an accountant submits on your behalf, they will be able to provide you with a tax calculation from their software.
whichever route you choose, the tax payable should be identical on the SA302 / Tax calculation document and the tax year overview.
hope that helps0 -
As outlined by FG above.
HMRC stopped providing SA302s on request 2 to 3 years ago.I am a Mortgage Broker

If the damn things simply don't exist any more, I want to be able to categorically call him an out of date idiot.
If its an FA (or IFA) doing mortgages then they probably are. Most IFAs (as individuals) no longer do mortgages. They employ dedicated mortgage advisers within the IFA firm. Some FAs still do mortgages but they end up as jack of all trades, master of none. You shouldnt use FAs for anything. It should be IFAs for investment class and mortgage advisers (who may work out of IFA firms.)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
SA Online Tax Calculation & SA Online Tax Year Overview is now the standard lender requirement.
Check your chosen lender's online criteria to establish what it requires.
Many people still use the term "SA302" as this the generic name for the document which can be produced a variety of ways, by HMRC, by SA Online and by Accountants' proprietary software.I am a mortgage broker.
