Just to dd my 2p, but HMRC do provide SA302s in certain circumstances.
I was able to download my most recent ones, but for the last tax year I had had to complete a paper self assessment return because of some shares and associated relief and as such was unable to download it from their website for that year.
I requested a copy from HMRCs webchat service, fully expecting to be told that they didn't issue them anymore. I was pleasantly surprised when they said that they would and they arrived a few days later. This was only a couple of weeks ago.
