Pay at Pump / Santander

Oh I filled up last week at the same station (not the same pump) and it did accept the card that was refused originally.0

Is it 1st April?0

Doesn't the GOLD MFC card also have a slight difference in that it allows cash free from worldwide Santander ATMs and the normal MFC is Spain only?
I checked mine and it just says SELECT DEBIT CARD with no MFC in it or anything? Thanks

I don't think Jonny was suggesting that they fill up with tens of thousands of pounds worth of fuel in one transaction (which would obviously take a suspiciously long time to complete), this scam presumably works on the basis of driving a van around many petrol stations!Fingerbobs wrote: »0 -
I strongly suspect that the issue was neither with the Pay at Pump or Santander
Were you trying to pay by “tapping” so contactless .
All cards have to be used with the pin before they can be used as contactless. This is to verify they are in the correct hands.0 -

“Tens of thousands” though? Just ten thousand would require visiting at least 101 petrol stations and buying £99 each time.
In any case, to carry that much fuel would require a small tanker. I don’t see a modified van being capable.

Nope - a card I have used probably 30 times previously at various petrol stations. And since at the same one. So when they implied that it was a Santander thing they probably meant "no clue, maybe machine fault, maybe your card is dirty"0
