Happy Monday everyone,
I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend.
I had an offer to go for 'a few' drinks on Saturday but I knew it was going to be messy. Instead I opted to save myself the cash and the hangover and instead, I was super productive. The weekend was filled with lots of healthy cooking, yoga, exercise, tidying up, preparing for the week ahead. etc. I enjoyed it.
Woke up at 5am this morning feeling great. Ready to seize the day and the week ahead. So I got up and went to the gym and packed my stuff to go again after work - only for yoga though. Meals are all organised for the week ahead so don't see any reason to spend unnecessarily. Even managed a NSD on Sunday, so today will be #11.
Holly - I too had the option to disappear to Spain for a year during uni and I wish I had taken it. Some of my classmates went and had nothing but positive things to say about the experience, not to mention having the solid foundations of a 2nd language. It's a short flight away and if she does want to visit, at least she could get a holiday out of it?0 -

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
yesterday the fog did not lift until after lunch and then came down again about 4 pm. It had lifted when we went to bed, and we have had a very hard frost. Glad I am not going out until after lunch.
Sun is bright, but OK says its very chilly out.
Bed stripped and sheets etc in the washer, hopefully will get them dry on the line.
OH is going to evergreens today, I am going to Morrison to do a stock up shop, cleared 2 shelves in the back bedroom cupboards. OH has an appointment to see the Dr. re his X Ray at 4 pm, so will call there on the way home.
Gammon and salad for supper..... banana for dessert.0 -
Morning all form a cold but sunny mehefinland.
3 Hawks have just taken off to go back to RAF Valley, noisy little beggars1 Didn't see them but certainly heard them They arrived Friday - expect they went to the rugby
HollyH Mrs M's cousin's daughter ( sounds like Hot Fuzz) who lives on the Gold Coast is in Tokyo uni and they haven't been closer until quite recently. Daughter thinks Mum should fund her MA as 'its your responsibility to fund my education'. Good job she didn't say it to me - would have got short shrift in good old Anglo Saxon. As it is, she was funded by the Japanese Govt so she's had pretty much a free ride. When I think of the debt DS has and others like him just to do the 1st degree it makes my blood boil.
Think a year out in Spain will do wonders for the boy, and possible his Mum too.
Not much else going on.. a major clean in readiness for Mrs Ms burpday on Sat. Where does all the muck come from:D.Not that's its dirty - honest;)
Hugs and spoons to those in need

Morning everyone. I've been surfing too long this morning already!
Today I have some final online assessments to do, just a couple of leftovers to catch up. This afternoon I've got a telephone appointment with DMs doc and am armed with a short list of questions for her.
The sun is trying to shine so perhaps a wander outside would be good. I need to replenish the squirrel box, all the hazelnuts have been taken. Mostly they get buried though there are shells with neat little holes in them too.
Happy Monday to all.0 -
Morning all,
We've had a nice weekend ,it was DH birthday on Saturday. We went to Manchester with our friends for a curry, yay the trains are running at weekends again after all the engineering work, which must have lasted nearly 2 years  Unfortunately one of the shirts I bought him is too small so need to exchange that.
I have a friend coming this afternoon so need a good tidy.,its her birthday on Wed. so there will be cake. With the DGC here most of the weekend its a bit messy
Yesterday afternoon DH & I went to a new Al di store a few miles away.It was heaving but with a better carpark than a lot of stores have, and everything lovely and new.Our nearest one is looking very shabby now,I think it was one of the 1st in the town..Anyway lots of fresh stuff bought in readiness for a bit of healthy eating ( after friends cake of course)
Hope you all have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all, more sunshine today :j. It certainly lifts the spirits, well mine anyway.
Dad came yesterday and he made me sooooo cross . Please fire up the charabang as he's first in the queue for it  TBH I'm still a bit miffed today.
My tasks for today are to hoover upstairs and look for the missing piece of the TV remote. The bedroom one decided not to work last night so Mr Fix It took it apart in the bedroom and has lost a piece of it. So I was on my hands and knees with a torch at 11pm, but no luck. ( Oooo er missis ) Seems a new TV/remote may have to be sourced
I shall also be on the hunt for some rings and hooks to put my voiles back up on the landing and in the hall. I took them down in May and I think it's time I put them back :rotfl:. They had a freshen up wash yesterday but I can't for the life of me remember where the hooks etc are . Somewhere safe I expect...... yeh too blummin safe. Oh well it will keep me busy for most of the day :rotfl:
Mr Fix It has decamped to his shed again and is out from under my feet. So I can get on, except to make the coffees and as it's lovely outside we may have lunch on the patio.
Tea tonight will be some leftover beef in gravy and a jacket potato.
Hester :j. Enjoy spending your house sale money.
dp1 I hope today is the day your DGD can come home.
Holly I hope your nephew can go to Spain, might do him and his DM some good. Enjoy your walk after half term, our half term is just starting here.
Organza Lace Isn't it wonderful when a littlie starts to talk, but can't you understand gibberish yet ? Me ? I've got a degree in it :rotfl:
TA maybe your new neighbour could turn out to be a " Roger "
Nelski safe journey home.
Well I'd better get my act in gear and put the breakfast dishes in the DW and press go. I shall have all the windows open today too, to get rid of the winter. I do hope it doesn't come back with a vengeance !
Have a good day all

I have done tidying, changed the bedlinen, hoovered and washing nearly finished. I even ironed 4 things.
Mint1955 you might like to look on the flylady thread on this section of the board, I think it is quite good for people who want to take an organised approach go those jobs that are easily neglected. Alas I am not one if them, it frightened me.
The rest of today is my own.
Hollyharvey part of my degree course involved a year in France but an academic year is quite short really and I did come back at Christmas and Easter. I think your nephew will have a great time and his mum will perhaps adapt to his growing independence.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
