Divorce and a direct debit

Hi, I hope someone can answer this for me, I am mid divorce and my ex has a direct debit set up from my bank account for a policy of his (set up years ago, long story) which, since we split, I have repeatedly asked him to cancel or change the details on. He is ignoring me and I’m fed up with this being paid out of my money. If I cancel the direct debit will it affect my credit rating even though the policy it is for is not mine?

I wouldn't have thought so - the company will just write to him & ask for new bank details0
