So I managed to do a recce of the car park today which, as I mentioned before, is now disused. All signage from the entrance is gone, but from GSV we know that the only reference to parking on the signs that used to be by the entrance stated, "Free customer parking".

I managed to get a picture (see link below) of the only parking sign in the car park. There only being one sign is consistent with GSV imagery. The terms and conditions are short to say the least and the top line referring to permits has been crossed out. This means that the only terms and conditions are authorised vehicles only, that you must park within the bays (which the car was) and to seek advice if unsure! Doesn't really strike me as the stuff of contract law.

That photo will be good evidence to go with your Witness Statement.

Remind us what stage you are at?

I have had the initial court papers through. I immediately sent back the Acknowledgement of Service so I have until 27th March to enter my defence.

So I think I now have a workable defence prepared. Is it acceptable to post it all here for critique?

needs a statement of truth at the bottom, plus I suggest that you also add the header as well, as shown in the concise defence by BARGEPOLE, to the top before I am ******** , the defendant.......

just edit the above post accordingly ^^^^^^^^

Can anyone tell me - on the day of the hearing, can I take someone into the room with me to help me with organising my evidence etc? I don't need them to speak so they are not a witness, but it would be useful to have someone to help me find relevant pieces of information from my notes and to advise me privately if necessary. If so, do I need to add them onto the Directions questionnaire or is there some other way of advising the court that this is what I would like to do?

Yes you can take a McKenzie Friend and you do NOT need to ask in advance.

    This is normal.

If you have no such person, try your local law centre who may offer free support, or ring the local court and ask if they have any regular volunteers who do this, or do they have a contact number for a charity who will.
