Spark passed my details to a debt collector without my knowledge?

Hi. We are paying by direct debit but some debt has been passed to crs via kpmg. So where is our money going to ??? What an utter disgrace the way this has been dealt with it’s absolutely unbelievable Is our money going into a black hole at Ovo Energy. Calls to sparks go to crs. So it’s just a viscious circle. Have sent crs a letter of complaint requesting a breakdown of why we owe it. Sent it recorded delivery and also by email. Please help it’s really stressful and upsetting. Need to leave this company ASAP but no good leaving until this diabolical mess sorted out. Countrywide recommended sparks. Countrywide about to go bust as well I read. Probably cos were on backhanders from sparks0

Sorry to hear you're unhappy.
I suspect what's happened here is that there's money due to Spark Energy Supply Ltd (in administration) and that your Direct Debit payments are being used towards any usage after 28/11/18 which is the date that OVO Energy took on Spark Energy's brand and customers. This is because we had to set up new accounts for all existing customers, so that there was one account for usage up to the point that Spark Energy Supply Ltd went into administration, and an account for ongoing usage now that Spark Energy is part of OVO Energy.
Because Spark Energy Supply Ltd is administration, any balance due up to 28/11/18 must be dealt with by KPMG, the administrators. CRS will be working on their behalf.
