Haven't been on the cc forum since last year, when I got my M&S more card.

Don't know how I have managed to rack up the debt that I have (hangs head in shame), but I know that the 0% deal runs out in January, and I need to transfer the balance.

I have done my bit of research, and would like to apply for the Virgin 15 month 0% card, but need clarification on the following:

1. Will I be able to transfer from M&S to Virgin ? Ie are they from different 'camps' ?

2. Talk is that the Virgin card is quite generous. Do you think I might get enough credit to transfer the whole of my M&S balance ?

M&S is HSBC card and Virgin is MBNA card, so should be ok. Virgin Amex card gave me £5k no questions asked, but obviously depends on your circumstances.

I have just gone for 0% Mint card and have been accepted for 4k (they give you an instant decision online) to clear my M&S card off which has almost ran out like yours.

Well, I applied for a Virgin card on the 24th and since then I have had an email to confirm my application has been accepted, a text message, my pin has already come throught the post (and immediately binned) and today I had a phone call welcoming me too.

Great .... except I am still waiting for the card, and of course, the all important credit limit ....

How long did it take you for you to get confirmation of acceptance? I applied today for the card, hoping to transfer my M&S balance.

Think I received the text / email messages about 5 days later, but it has been a week since then and I am still waiting for card / credit limit. In the email it said 7 - 10 days so I suppose I should just be patient !:rolleyes:

Card and limit arrived in post this morning.

I have had my egg card for a while now they gave me a £15,000 limit!!!!! I don't know why as my salary is only a couple of thousand higher than that. Not bothered because I never owe more than a couple of hundred for more than a couple of months.
