Depends what you mean by a "normal" credit history. I have no black marks only mine, and Egg issued a card without batting an eyelid - as I would expect. If "normal" to you means that you've got some late payments and other problems then I can't comment.

Its mean that i was new to credit last year i applied for the egg card and they refused me but other hand i was accepted for Barclays and asda card and i have never missed my payments, so now i was thinking to apply it again, i am looking for higher limit card so thought i would give a try to egg.

    Any suggestions.
  • As promised, the postie has been, and I have a PIN number, so I guess they have approved the application:j

I applied for a Virgin Atlantic Amex card in september for their 0% balance transfers. I have a slightly tarnished history, but they gave me a £5k limit with no problems.

Which card did you apply and what is your credit limit like if you dont mind telling us.
  • I applied for an Egg card (not Egg money) for their 14 month 0% BT offer, and was accepted immediately with a generous limit for my income (3500).

Incidentally, this is exactly the same limit that I was offered by MBNA a year ago.

I am self-employed, so was VERY worried about applying. I have a good credit record, with no missed or late payments. I have 2 other cc's - ASDA card and the MBNA platinum which I am transferring a balance from.

    Hope that helps.

    Hiya

Haven't been on the cc forum since last year, when I got my M&S more card.

Don't know how I have managed to rack up the debt that I have (hangs head in shame), but I know that the 0% deal runs out in January, and I need to transfer the balance.

I have done my bit of research, and would like to apply for the Virgin 15 month 0% card, but need clarification on the following:

    1. Will I be able to transfer from M&S to Virgin ? Ie are they from different 'camps' ?

    2. Talk is that the Virgin card is quite generous. Do you think I might get enough credit to transfer the whole of my M&S balance ?

    Many thanks in advance
  • I had all three up until April this year, then got rid of virgin. I had egg card from 2002, egg money from 2004, virgin from 2005 then post office since last year. I have an average credit rating, because I don't own my home and move address/change bank accounts once in a while.
