I try to plug aerate 2 a year, did try to fill the plugs with sand once but that took hours on my lawn

Our moss never dried out and it felt like you were walking on a trampoline!

How deep do these plugs need to be ?

the machine normally pulls out 3" plugs so good size,
think its 9 plugs per 1 sq ft of lawn, so lawn 10ft x 20 ft = 1800 plug holes
my lawn is something like 44 yds x 40 yds so putting sand in was hard work
