  • Afternoon from a very weary soul. I got cracking early doors with the postponed Friday Tidy and got finished in record time. Being as how it's a gorgeous day I had an early lunch and thought I would start making inroads into the wilderness that is the front garden. To say the spirit was willing but the legs and knees were not is no understatement! It was hard going and I had to make numerous pit stops. It's nowhere near gold standard but it does look a bit better than it did.

I have just had a soak in the bath and feel marginally less achey painy. It's now feet up time and I will see if I can find an old film to entertain me. I am promising myself that I will make a start on the back garden tomorrow, hips, knees and legs permitting.

Lovely news from CAMELOT and congratulations all round. It seems as though a lot of us suffered more with sickness when carrying girls! With DD it went on and on. And a happy birthday to Snoozer's LAURA.

I have one of the Aldi chicken breasts topped with cheese and leek gratin out defrosting for tea. They are quite nice and more so when picked up with 50% off! I'll have with some hm wedges and salad methinks.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks if you can and get well soon wishes for CANDYGIRL and GERS. x

  • Thank you for the welcomes from yesterday :p

I haven't needed to leave the house today and had a rare lie in, which was much needed as yesterday took most of my spoons. I've been house busy though, got washing on the line and baked some fresh bread buns. These seemed to summon the teenage Nosferatu from his hell pit to give his grunt of approval. I had started to make pie filling for me and hubby for tomorrow, he was even eyeing that up but he did comment it would be better with some beef. I cook a separate pork roast for the meat eaters on the Sunday, you'd think that was enough but no, they want the vegan pie too. I was loathe to throw away some stale buns so made them into breadcrumbs to freeze, feeling very domestic and organised...which is a change.
My mum came round for a cup of coffee, which was nice but interrupted the housework flow. My first seed order for my purple and black goth garden have arrived...I do like themes. Hubby is taking the youngest to the park and to feed a friends cats so I'm going to string some fairy lights on the inside of his trampoline for when he gets home (DS's not DH's trampoline!). I might also sit outside with a cup of spiced apple and chamomile tea and enjoy the spring sunshine.
I don't have much to do for tea as I've prepped the salad and having a very non old style vegan goodfellas pizza :o I went to M and S yesterday to get some vegan coleslaw and potato salad and cauliflower bites to go with it. I can make my own coleslaw but I wanted an easy tea that wasn't a takeaway. Maybe a glass of red wine tonight and maybe a movie is usually the Saturday night plan.
  • NMLC, I understand now, about thepost offices and the passport, what a palaver for you, hope you get sorted.

    Welcome. Hedgewytch

    Cogratulations Camelot, lovely news.

TA I keep finding reasons not to do the garden, but it will have to be done, and soon.

The rain hammered down during my drive home! Couldn't even see Loch Lomond because of low lying cloud or mist. The roads have loads of standing water which made for slower driving - anyway, I'm home. I stopped at the local pharmacy for more supplies of paracetamol and ibuprofen gel from the minor injuries scheme - i.e. free of charge. I always offer to pay for the paracetamol but the pharmacist told me that their supplies of the pay for ones is low and he's prefer it if I took the free ones!

I've unpacked, opened the post and had a cup of tea. Now I'm sitting cosily under my heated throw just relaxing.

Good to read about everyone's day.
