I still consider investing in something different each week to be an unnecessary cost and complication. Buying something that is already globally diversified such as Vanguard LifeStrategy or HSBC Global Strategy regularly each month seems more likely to give you a better result over the medium to long term.foxreymann wrote: »But all research shows that share picking would surely end up in my loosing all my monies. So NO.
Probably not all your monies but my experience was that it certainly didn't deliver me superior results. When I was in a stock picking share club at work for a few years it was a struggle for us to break-even in a rising market. Some of them had been doing it badly for 10 years.
You run the same risk with picking a wide variety of active funds. If you focus in on the mostly passive ones you find they are so similar you might as well pick the one you like best.
You can learn a lot about different investments without actually owning them. It can be a very cheap hobby.

londoninvestor, you're so so right. You've just convinced me to screw my ex-UK strategy.0 -

What is your savings rate?
That number is the one big thing that will determine your success.

First £74.2 will be invested in next months in ISA wrapper, so tax efficient. I'm also looking into workplace pension and SIPP, but this is a different topic so I prefer not to touch it here.
I'm not sure what number you actually meant here but you can only pay in your £2k per week for 10 weeks before reaching your ISA limit. The rest will need to be invested outside the ISA wrapper.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Jimjames, in the other thread the OP has already explained that the money is mostly already Cash ISA wrapped:
