How to invest £2k today?

Question:
To keep up with my investment plan I have to invest £2k on Monday morning via iWeb S&S ISA. What should I buy?
Background:
- End goal is to achieve financial independence / retirement as soon as possible. I'm 35 years old but really not planning to sit at my desk in the office for next 30 years. I'm very motivated to achieve this.
- I have exactly £200k cash ATM on various saving accounts.
- I save monies with a rate of £450/week from a simple strategy, earn a lot, spend little.
My strategy:
- Drip-feeding £2k per week as:
- I'm just starting to learn about investment
- I need to gain more knowledge about security of financial investments to get comfortable with these investments.
- I still might invest some cash into residential property this year, depends on circumstances.
- Drip-feeding is also a good strategy as you never know what will come in next months.
Question again:
What to purchase on Monday morning for £2k via iWeb S&S ISA? I've no clue what I'm doing so I will listen and do as you suggest.
P.S. Thx to masonic, Alexland and eskbanker for previous advice. Based on their suggestion I've changed my drip-feeding strategy from stupid £1k/week to £2k/week.

You come across as very confused or lacking an understanding of the basics. If you have done well with property, perhaps you should stick with what you know.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

Here's a tip buy BYD. "BYDDY". Chinese co though you'd be buying depository receipts listed on NASDAQ. Which is open right now.- All UK S&S ISA providers are anyway extremely linked to UK and US market. Firstly they are all based in UK. Secondly their offer is very very limited to shares and funds from only a few markets. For example tell me which UK S&S ISA provider will let me buy Gazprom(RUS) shares? Sberbank (RUS)? Samsung? A complete non sequitur. The fact a provider wont let you invest in Russia doesn't mean its linked to UK or US markets. Of course they are in the UK, thats what an ISA is a UK based financial tool.
I am sure you could invest in copper or tin (isnt the bronze age well past but each to their own?) via specialist commodity funds. Searching for "copper" on HL gets 15 hits most of which seem to be actual copper producers mines or the commodity.
You can invest direct in Samsung and Lenovo on HL lso. I am not going to bother looking for the others. Maybe you can maybe you cant. But your basic premise you cant invest in any of those is provably wrong so wrong you obviously didnt even bother checking.
I presume the rest of your post is pure fantasy also.0 -
- I'm already highly overinvested in UK. I live and work in London. My permanent job is in London. The only 2 clients of my LTD company as London based. If London goes bad then I'm already screwed.
You do realise that there is life outside of London when it comes to teh UK?- I'm might invest into London property at some point. Then I will be even more overinvested in UK.
In property but still nothing in equity.- I believe that due to contanst growth on both S&P and FTSE for last 10 years, a crisis is coming in the next 5 years. Better to invest in places where the market is less overpriced ATM.
What makes you think that the UK is overpriced? Many feel the complete opposite.- All UK S&S ISA providers are anyway extremly linked to UK and US market. Firstly they are all based in UK. Secondly their offer is very very limited to shares and funds from only a few markets. For example tell me which UK S&S ISA provider will let me buy Gazprom(RUS) shares? Sberbank (RUS)? Samsung? Hyundai? Huaweii? Lenovo? Or invest straight in copper or tin?
The tax wrapper and provider has nothing to do with the location of the investments. There are reasons why limitations exist in which markets you can trade in.- I have trust issues with financial institutions and goverments. I need to learn and understand more before I invest all my monies.
You need to remove the tin foil hat as well.I've no clue what I'm doing so I will listen and do as you suggest.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
cloud_got, Yes, I'm confused, hence investing only £2k/weekly for now.
AnotherJoe, pure fantasy? Not, just my financial situation. Nothing fantastic in it unluckily. Looking for a serious advice.0 -
After first 5 replies I see that I'm too stupid to be even treated seriously. So better no to take any decisions by myself. Still looking for an advise on what to buy on Monday morning via iWeb S&S ISA?0

For a sizeable investment such as yours its worth seeing an IFA. He will look at the best and most tax efficient way to achieve your financial goals. By what you have said it could well include pension related investments etc .0

Why not just put small amounts into a few funds to try and get some experience?0

Perhaps it is fortunate that markets are closed and you have the weekend ahead of you.0 -
