I haven't been on or posted on these boards for a long time so I hope it's OK to join in....my situation is I had a breakdown and am currently not working so we have to cut back drastically. I enjoy old style living, meal planning etc I want to get back into the mind set again. I'm currently studying to become a reflexologist as a complete change of pace.

    Good morning....

Been up since 5.30 am as my 8 year old decided it was time to get up. He's autistic and has his own interpretation of what counts as morning.
Suns out now and we've been decluttering and cleaning. Found a musty quilt that is now washed and on the line. Lovely to get things out in the fresh air.

Babysitting the niece and nephew today (6 and 8), they are much more demanding than my son  Found a gardening and craft kit, I bought in the sale so that's kept them busy for an hour. We put a new trampoline that we got from Family Fund up on Tuesday and it's been a blessing. Going to take them to the park for a play then McDonalds for lunch ...my sister actually left money for them...they do eat me out of house and home (not for me I'm vegan and trying to make healthy choices).

Feeling quite positive today, might manage to walk the dogs too. These lighter days and evenings make me feel so much better.

Tea's an easy one, veggy fingers, veg and mash. So I don't have to worry too much about prep. Awaiting my veg box delivery so things may change depending on what I get. I feel in the mood to make bread, so maybe soup? My niece would enjoy making that with me.

Just popped back in with an update on scoobymare. I know you're all riveted lol. Stevie 2shoes looked like death warmed up ( especially in the fog) took a shufti and has decided he knows what needs doing. So its a full workout on Tuesday now.
Hiya Hedgewytch.. welcome to the madhouse.

Ooh.looks like the fogs lifting @11.23. Don't think we are going to get too warm today though.
Just caught that flypast on catchup.. so very moving and what a brilliant thing to achieve in memory of those poor aircrew. Brought a tear to this old fool's eye.

he is going to adjust the hind hooves to compensate by careful trimming. As she is a recovered laminitic everything is done in small stages.

Sounds fair, a good farrier is worth their weight in gold.
  • Hi chums, am on boy sitting duties this week (mainly involves regular feeding in exchange for countless cuppa's)

Yesterday DD had the day off and we took the boys down to Herne Bay as it was such a gorgeous day. Had a lovely walk along the front and up the pier and fish and chips in Macari's and later on a nice ice cream.Proper spring day with wall-to-wall sunshine and the town was full of folk making the most of the half term break

Eldest DD nipped round last night for a cuppa as her and her OH are off to NYC tomorrow morning for a week to see my eldest DGS and His wife. not quite as warm out there I believe though.

I am just sitting enjoying a lovely cuppa mad by DGS Henry, as he really does make a nice one for me :)

He went up to Essex Uni last Saturday with his sister for the Open Day and he is hoping to get accepted there as he really likes to look of it .

Bless him he has 2 'A' level exams to do on his 18th birthday in June and the other two to do just before, fingers crossed for him.

We are all going up to Hertfordshire this Sunday as its DGS Jacks 19th birthday, so we will take him out for lunch and feed him up. I shall also take a box of food supplies with me as I know he has hollow legs as do his fellow students in his Halls. They are a nice bunch of youngsters and share their stuff between themselves. He is loving his Uni experience bless him .

Right time to put the news on and see what's happening in the world

<<hugs >> to those who need them and I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

  • Afternoon all. Lovely and sunny here. I sat in the garden and had a cuppa after lunch very nice indeed.

DH has taken Dgs and DD to the park. Dgs was so keen to go that he would only ear his magic soup. His sandwich had to be packed up to go lol.

Our washing and DD's is on the line. They live in a flat so she uses my washing line when she can.

Well have a good afternoon and enjoy the sunshine.

    Afternoon all,.

Nothing done here today yet.......read newspaper, chatted to DS3 who called in as he is on a day off, now watching The weakest link, will move my Arris when it is over.

Cloudy and windy here today, two loads of washing to hang out and another to go in machine.

OH made a very good Bolognese sauce yesterday which DD3 turned into a lasagne, so that is dinner sorted for tonight......I am meeting a friend for dinner, so I will be having Chinese.

    Hugs to all

Hi all, I'm back and caught up with today's posts
Well it's the calm after the storm here :D. DD and the DGC have now gone home and they are imploring DD to take them swimming tonight..... Oh to be able to bottle some of that energy. Mr Fix It and I have just collapsed .
The fog didn't lift till about 1pm.... after we'd had an indoor picnic :( and then the sun came out so we walked to the local "fish pond park" where the DGC tried ( and failed ) to climb a tree . We have a lovely video of DGS trying to get up a muddy bank and it could be a contender for you've been framed. He's not the most elegant of people and he ended up with his top plastered in mud :rotfl:.
I've put the dishes in the DW but the lego and craft stuff etc can wait till tomorrow to be tidied away.

Hope all the poorlies are feeling a little better today.
    Hedgewytch welcome
Anyone seen Gers ?. If you are reading I hope you and your DMum are ok.
TA put your feet up when you can and get your breath back :D.
Hester I hope everything goes to plan.
I've just seen the news with Tony and the flypast..... brought a lump to my throat too.

Take care all, see you tomorrow.
    nan xx
