    Morning everyone,

Nels We have just seen two of the aircraft fly over after taking off from USAF Mildenhall and will be glued to the screen at 8.45. Tony is an inspiration and like you I have been in tears watching his story x
My DOH is taking me away for the weekend down to the Norfolk coast, the weather is set fair and I can’t wait to get on the beach to blow all the cobwebs away. We have a cottage with a garden down to a river within walking distance to a pub :j little dog is obviously coming too as she loves the beach.

Hugs to all poorlies, have a good day folks x
  • Morning everyone and happy Friday!!

Late night in work again yesterday, followed by the gym meant i didn't get home till closer to 8.30. The new turkey recipe I tried turned out ok I suppose, I'll make a couple of changes next time. By the time I finished it and tidied up it was 10pm. So I lied when I said I was going to do that ironing, sorry.

A very restless night sleep meant I (again) skipped the gym this morning and opted to go this evening, providing of course I leave at reasonable time. Peri peri sausages with cauliflower mash for dinner tonight. Not sure what I'll get up to over the weekend either.

Nelski - Mmmmmmm...lamb kebabs. I know what I'm having tomorrow!

Morning all from a cold and very foggy mehefinland.

Stevie two shoes due today after cancelling yesterday ( had to go for chest xray:( ) so Scoobymare is still looking dodgy.

DS just text complaining about all the idiots driving in the fog with either sidelights or NO lights on  He is super cautious so I bet he had every light that his car possesses on full (gosh that's a lot of s's)

Grand plan for MRS M s landmark burpday next week in full swing. A few surprises up our sleeve but she knows some of it ( hard to keep secrets in this house;)). Got her a lovely brooch from sculpture to wear , which is currently being finished at jewellers. It might be a bit tight timewise to get it here.

Not much else going on so hugs and spoons to those in need

dumpling, I hope things continue to be better. Chris is really struggling at the moment. He is very close to his dad and the cancer has hit him hard, compounded by the fact that he has to be in Wales Monday to Friday. He's also missing out on exercise so we're trying to encourage him to go out running. Hopefully Steve will not have as bad a time with the next chemos.

We went to the hospital yesterday but I think the consultant was called away and we ended up seeing a registrar instead. He annoyed me a lot because I'd made Steve wear a mask and he asked why. It became clear he'd not even glanced at the notes and after we started to explain what had been going on he decided he ought to go and read the discharge notes.

Anyway, they have decided to postpone the next chemo session for another week. I'm glad that Steve will have more time to get over the pneumonia.

I want to do a Friday tidy and also go to Lidl this morning. We will also go for a short walk to try to build up Steve's strength. I'm at the quilting stage on the baby quilt, I've already pulled out a couple of attempts I didn't like.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Glad Steve is a bit better, how remiss of the Dr. not to have read up his notes before seeing him.

Nelski.... we watched the flypast on TV, what an incredible man, and there were thousands of people there to see it. Sheffield had put on special buses to get people to the park. The man deserves a medal!! I have to admit to tears and it was not the drops for my eye, very emotional stuff.

We are off to see my friend today. I managed to get the quilt top together, so have pressed it, taking it with me to show her. There are pictures on my blog for the nosy ones. I had to order a single sheet from e*** for the backing. Cotton of course. I did think about using fleece but it worked out too expensive. I am going to start on the second one, but its a birthday present for a 90th in November, so not such a busting flush to get it done.

OH is out in the shed, tidying, he says, I guess he is just shifting stuff around. I have cleaned in sitting room, moved the settee and OH's relaxa chair to hoover underneath. It was not too bad, I have seen it worse.

Forgot to add, Hester is hoping to complete on her house sale today. I guess CHS will be wanting to go and look at more boats!!

Fish and chips tonight. no idea about a dessert.

    Morning all,

Looking a nice day again :j
Nelski- I'd heard about the story before and watched the fly past, very touching,I felt so happy for Tony.
DH birthday tomorrow so I nipped into town for some pressies, need to wrap later. The DGC arent here tonight unusually but coming tomorrow instead, not sure what we're doing though. We always do cake and candles with them so I suppose I'll have to make one :D

I might give Ly1a a hose down outside if it warms up a bit more- be a lot easier if we could shove her in the shower.DS stopped DGS just in time yesterday from jumping on her back for a ride - I know he's skinny but .He said - well she's nearly as big as a donkey and they give rides. Good job she loves him :)
Right, better get on,have good days all xx

The weather here is very foggy and not that warm :(
The DGC are here and we are waiting for the fog to lift as we are going to the boating lake for a picnic.....hopefully! All the food is ready in the fridge/ on the dining table and we will make a decision about 11 am. If we don't go, there are choc chip cookies to be made and lots of other stuff to do . Phew !!! I'm worn out just thinking about it :rotfl:. DD is on pick up but she will stay for tea before they all go home. TBH the DGC have been no bother at all except that I can't fill the DGS up fast enough. I think he would eat 24/7 if you let him and there's more meat on a butchers hook than on him .

I haven't read through today's post yet, but will pop back after tea for a catch up.
Hugs to all and take care today.

    nan xx

Morning all! A good sleep last night under a new and improved lesser spotted tog duvet. There was no throwing off of covers at all, although it's not as heavy as the 13 one, and I like a nice heavy duvet. Changed it myself, OH has hurt his shoulder so i did the one handed duvet roll.
Didn't feel like cooking yesterday, so i caved in and orered a pizza. OH didn't come home in time to eat his so he can have that tonight and I'll have something else.
Will be pottering later on, once I'm compos...I don't know how much of the compos stuff is because I don't have to get up for work at the moment, so normally I would be concentrating on something else, so wouldn't be able to think about how I feel, and how much is still side effects. I have been diligently writing down appointments now, so should be able to remember after a glance at the calendar!
Also quite feel the spring clean chuck out mindset, so will belooking for things to declutter, and selling some books I don't and won't read again fits the bill.

Nelski, what a lovely story. Hooray for the sleep fairy! Holly, you sound quite positive, hope the appointment goes well! TA, it sounds frantic, but it does sound like you're enjoying yourself :) AOD, yeah, go slow, loo after yourself. I have to take mine to have the airbags checked too, booked in for March, I have no idea if they have free coffee and biscuits, will have to investigate, if they don't, will have to pull up these threads to show how badly they are treating their customers :P mehefin, the brooch sounds nice, you're o thoughtful. snoozer, how is he doing for food too? Will protein shakes [you know, the body buider type ones] help? You might be able to get a prescription for those too.OL, hope the cars ok. csarina, have you thought about suing those lightwight fleecy blanket things as backing? would it work?
