We signed up with Eon last September as they were the cheapest available at the time. We knew we would be moving within the initial 12 month contract period and naively assumed that we could could port the same deal to the new property and see out the remainder of the contract.
However Eon informed us that although they would be happy to supply our energy they would have to re quote the contract and came back as considerably higher than the competition so we ended up binning them, had to take over the existing Spark energy supply at the new house but immediately switched to Zebra0 -

We get cracking with your switch
25 Jan - 4 Feb
Submitted your first meter reading. Well done!

We’ve taken your first payment

You’re officially a Bulb member. Hurrah!
Following your earlier posts elsewhere, I hope you've now learned the error of your ways.
But I doubt it... :cool:0 -
Hi again and thank you so much guys for all replies.
Just got off the phone with estate agent, who said the electricity at the new flat is EDF but don’t know who supplies the gas. Npower told me yesterday that both electricity and gas are from Utility Warehouse.
Also water is on a submeter, and this apparently is connected to main meter of the property(which has 3 flats altogether).
Guess all is clear as mud until I move in and see the meters with my own eyes
PS the reason I would like to keep my supplier(be it Npower), is because I remember the 4 months of nightmare until Npower got it right when moving where I live now 5 years ago. Don’t want to go through that again.0 -

While Npower might let you keep the same customer account with contact details, billing details, payment & contact history (I don't know their current internal policies, most companies don't do that). You will be setting up a brand new energy account with them at the new property. If you had 4 months of nightmare with them there's no guarantee it won't happen again. Unless they're particularly cheap for your region right now, why would you want to subject yourself to that again?
I understand it's 'better the devil you know' I've put up with a lot of nonsense from E.ON over the years because they've generally come right by me in the end (and because of Malc and Helena, their reps on this board). But in my limited dealings with Npower they've really not impressed me. Of the 'big 6' Personally I'd rate them at the bottom with Scottish Power3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0 -

Don't take the agent's word - follow Ofgem's links and find out yourself, since they and EDF say different.0

Thank you all.
D_M_E the link you gave me works and not. It loads but the website is useless. I either have to call 0870 or 0845 numbers, and this costs money- this for services that should be free.
My landlord is 100% deaf, she seems a nice person though(I went in to take some measurements in advance- as I move in in 3 weeks).Just by the time we connected few sentences I completely forgot to ask her about energy suppliers.0 -
The link works for me.
For gas - If you follow the next link you give the post code and select the address. Thats free.
Alternatively you can use the number given and pay the charges shown.
The Electricity side costs you the price of a local call.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Nothing to do with the LL as to which energy suppliers you choose to use. Your bills, your choice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
