I’m not sure if section 75 would help here, as nobody is in breach of contract?

    BMI? The agent?
  • UPDATE

Can i thank everyone for the words of wisdom and advice.

As an update I'd like to inform you all that I've now got the situation resolved. I tried another couple of times to talk to mytrip.com and when I eventually got through they weren't for moving. I then decided to contact ANA Airlines direct. The previous day they had told me that I had to go through the booking agent however, today after I told my story they agreed to take control of my booking and sort everything out for me. Can I just say that the customer service provided by ANA was fantastic and as soon as I got off the phone it was like a weight being lifted from my shoulders. So what did I learn:

    - Do my research before booking through a company I know little about,
    - Book flights using a credit card,
    - Don't trust every company that appear on a website like skyscanner (although not their fault)
    - Read the small print... it may be cheap but not necessarily in the long run
    - Best to book with a British based agency (for those in UK)

    - Never use mytrip.com again

This was my first ever post on this site and I thank you for your help, it saved me a lot of money and my sanity.

No, it's best to book direct from the airline unless there are very good reasons not to. Congrats on getting everything sorted though.
