TSB lost 11 years of my bank statements in post

  • There would be no need to print any statements in the first place if their system would work after their IT meltdown - if you read the whole message I either was unable to see any of my statements or access the bank account at all to see my balance. It would be much easier for me to go through the statements online and see information that I needed than manually go through all the pages...
  • wow.

there would be no need to print the statements off if TSB wouldn't have an IT meltdown - outage that followed a migration to a new IT system. Yes, for FREE, because I was unable to access either my bank account online, make transactions or see my statements online. FOR WEEKS.

Fair enough I get that part but seriously why would you need 11 years worth of bank statements?? It’s just ludicrous

It sounds like it’s more royal mails problem than tsb’s tbh

Take the £100 quid say thank you very much and move on with your life!

Maybe take some precautions like signing up for credit alerts too be on the safe side but I think that would be it

  • Sweet. Home Office asked for proof of residency from 2007. And information on all money received from employment from that year. HMRC does not have this information, indeed, only last 6 years. I got that too. I am self-employed. Unfortunately, I needed the statements and manually check my income from 11 years ago. Would be easier if TSB had resolved the IT issue by July that took place in April. If anyone needs their memory refreshed google 'tsb crisis april 2018'.
  • "Fair enough I get that part but seriously why I’m hell would you need 11 years worth of bank statements?? It’s just ludicrous" - request from Home Office to provide income figures from 2007 onwards to 2018. Ridiculous indeed.
  • I am surprised that you are surprised.

The £100 offer is about £100 too much in my opinion.

Maybe you should keep your own records rather than relying on the bank to do so - you're lucky they provided them to you that far back as well, and at no cost

Please refresh your memory about the tsb crisis and it meltdown back in april 2018 and customers being unable to access their bank accounts/see the balance/see the statements. I didn't go paperless to ask my bank to print statements for me. Why for free? Because I was unable to access ANY statements, even two months back. The IT crisis took place in April, their system wasn't working in July, this is when I wanted to access my bank statements. I do keep myown records, the last 6 years.
Who knew Home Office will ask me for my income from 2007 onwards to 2018. I bet you remember how much you earned in the financial year 2007/2008. Cheers

Just a tip for the future, it is useful to quote people so that we can determine who you are replying to. Sometimes it is not easy to tell and therefore makes it more difficult to pass on information.

To do this, press the "Multi-quote this message" button, under each post you wish to quote and eventually reply to. Then, click the "post reply" button at the end of the page.
