Iam being reassessed after 3 years in support group and Iam wondering if there is an easy way to find out why I was put in support group the last time

Your last decision letter should have contained a statement of reasons so look at this first.0

Mine never have. ESA decision letters are very basic and give you very limited information.pmlindyloo wrote: »Your last decision letter should have contained a statement of reasons so look at this first.
Requesting a copy of the assessment report, if they still have it will help the OP.0 -

Very strange.
Perhaps we are talking about two different things.
Every ESA decision letter I have seen has shown a summary of the HP's report and what points were scored for each descriptor.

No, none of my ESA decision letters have shown anything like that. This includes my most recent one in November. I had a copy of the assessment report, which is how i know the reasons.0

My ESA award letters have never shown any reasons or list of points just said I was put in support group and how much I was getting0

I must admit that the ESA decision letters that I have seen have always been when someone wishes to appeal.
Perhaps, if you are put in the support group then there would be no reason to appeal so they do not include the reasons in their decision letter - sorry, all I can think of.
Does it not even say something about due to meeting *** (description number) or reg. 35?
All I can suggest is to follow Poppy's advice and ring the DWP and see if they have the information.0 -
To be placed in the support group, you need to meet one of the descriptors from the SG list (or qualify under Rule 35). Therefore there is not a list of points awarded, as the criteria is not points based. My son was placed in the support group last year. I did request the report, but it did not give a reason for the support group. However, as he has a severe learning disability, and the face to face concentrated on this and on his lack of awareness of danger, I assume that he qualified under one of those descriptors. He would have qualified under several others though.0

No, mine never have and i've always been placed into the Support Group through mobilising. It's just basic information that you've been placed into the Support Group and that's it.pmlindyloo wrote: »

A standard grouping letter (Work Related or Support) does not have the reasons for the decision in it.
They are system generated and not written by the decision maker.
An ESA65 where a claim is disallowed always has the reasons for the decision included.
If you want an explanation of the decision you need to request a written statement of reasons (which will frequently result in gibberish as the decision was made by an Admin Officer following the advice of the Healthcare Professional) or more practically request a copy of the ESA85 medical report.Who's going to fly your plane? / When you need to make your getaway....0 -
Thanks. Which is exactly what i thought, as i stated my decision letter has never had any reasons why i was placed into the support group. The only way i always knew was because of the assessment report (ESA85)dreamylittledream wrote: »A standard grouping letter (Work Related or Support) does not have the reasons for the decision in it.
