You don't have to ask her anything about her circumstances but it wouldn't be fair if you didn't tell her that if she is receiving means tested benefits, she can't refuse an inheritance without it affecting her adversely.

Most people know that they can't give money away without it affecting benefits but there are those who think that, if they refuse an inheritance before it gets given to them, that doesn't count.

Unless the reason is that she is already loaded, this is well worth mentioning otherwise it could come back and bite you.
