New Build House
Can anyone help me? My girlfriend and I are waiting to move into our new house, a new build, that will be ready for the end of April. The house has solar panels on the roof.
Because of the delay in the building schedule I had to sell my house and am currently living with my Mother so I no longer have an energy contract that I can switch to a new supplier. Am I limited in the number of companies I can go with? And would it be possible to sign up through the Energy Club despite not having a current supplier? With some of the deals closing soon, would it be possible to sign up with those deals now and not start until we move in?

I'm afraid that when you do move into the 'new' house, you are obliged to contact whatever Gas/Electric supplier the builders has signed up with, and give them the date of occupation and the meter readings
Only when you have established an account with them, are you free to Switch to another supplier
It's exactly the same procedure as any other housemove0 -
Are the panels registered in the FIT scheme?.

Who knows......
I haven't been able to get a straight answer to date from the house builder. In fairness to them the solar panels weren't on the spec when we paid our deposit. It was added to the spec along with a combi boiler afterwards at no cost as it was a condition of the planning consent.0 -
Are these water heating panels rather than electricity ones?0

This is something your solicitor is being paid loadsamoney to sort out.
Get a new solicitor to sort out your solicitor if there is a failure to provide you the service you are paying for.0 -
The FIT payments will need to be registered with you not the builders if it is FIT registered at all.4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.0
