PDF to word freeware sought

I am trying to convert a large PDF (40Mb - 100+ page) to DOC

The PDF is mainly complex graphics and handwriting - rather than text.
I do have Office 2016 but that doesn't accept such a big input file
Googling - produces many options - but from what I have tried - most limit you to less than 10Mb
Any "safe" Freeware suggestions?

Surely you have some old copies of/licenses for an old copy of acrobat left over from your long career in IT ?

Just use one of those ;)

You can do it with Google Docs online. That will import a PDF and can save in Word docx format.

Even if you get this to work, the end result will probably be one huge graphic image per Word page. Is this what you want?

How about printing it out and scanning it to Word, if you can find a scanner which outputs Word?

Thinking along similar lines. Screenshots of each pdf page and paste into Word?

I was in a similar position with a sensitive document. I just ended up using a trial version of Foxit Reader (business), though it messed up a few words, it wasn't so bad. I just gave fake details (they wanted a name and email) when they asked for it and then downloaded the program. After I was finished, I uninstalled it. My document had lots of images, text and was 150+pages. Be wary that MS Office may be quite slow with the .doc document.

    • Open the file in your PDF viewer
    • Go as if to print the PDF, but selecting Microsoft Print to PDF or Foxit PDF Printer, and pages 1-20 only
    • Open the resulting document in Word and confirm it is happy to perform the conversion. Save as DOCX.
    • Repeat, selecting pages 21-40 for printing, then 41-60, etc.
    • Once all pages are converted, attempt to combine the resultant Word documents into a single file via copy/paste.
