This will be useful if the rates stay the same as Marcus, where my money is at present, as they will reduce their rate on the first anniversary of opening an account with them.
Marcus will allow you to renew the bonus rate from time to time..
    You can atm.

Login/account/view/(scroll down on rh side)review your savings/ (scroll down under bonus rate options) renew your bonus.

Out of interest has anyone noticed whether the bonus rate has moved from .15% since the account was started?

Don't think the addition of Vanquis to the article today is accurate.

The link takes you to the 5 Year Limited Offer Fixed Rate Bond
which has £50,000 minimum. For a £1000 minimum you have to go to https://www.vanquissavings.co.uk/5-year-fixed-rate-bonds/ , which only pays 1.95%
  • Tried to open Beehive Easy saver account. Filled in the on-line application form. On exit it said they needed additional original documentation sending to confirm my identity. I sent exactly what they asked for by first class post. One week later, having heard nothing, I phoned to ask if they had received the document and they said yes and it would be a couple of days before confirmation. Two weeks later they said they needed more information. I said absolutely not as my patience had run out and told them to stop my application and said my documents back and they agreed. I received an email confirming my documentation was being returned. Shortly after I received an email saying my application had been DECLINED!
I phoned and said this absolutely was not the case, to be told "oh its ok thats just the wording on the IT department documentation. STEER CLEAR OF THE BEEHIVE ACCOUNT!!!!

Never had any issues when I opened my 1.55% account with NBS.

Sounds like they couldn't verify your ID.

    .

Who are NBS? Anyway, for 0.05% it is hardly worth moving money from Marcus.

As the poster was referring to a post about Beehive, the answer to your question is shown further up the thread!

New Easy Access savings account from The Nottingham Building Society. Branded as Beehive Online Saver it’s starting at 1.5% Gross/AER (Variable). Minimum deposit £2500.

On first inspection it’s not too tempting for me, but will keep an eye on it.

It's academic now anyway, as the Nottingham 1.55% rate has long since been withdrawn....
